Caged like an animal
What were they wanting from me?
What were they trying to see?

Giggles.

Not the sound you expect to hear from a 6 years old room at 1 am.

It was way past her bedtime, but Aster was wide awake, trying to muffle her uncontrollable giggles with her tiny hands and definitely not succeeding at it. Well, how could she, when she just created the best board game ever? Filled with different rules and challenges, she was really proud of her little self, already anxious to show her new creation to her best friend in the whole world.

Luckily, the next day was DeeDee's birthday and he would come to their place for the party, and they would play around all day.

Talking about DeeDee, she was the other reason why little Aster was still up - she was waiting for her older sister to come home. It was Maddie's 18th birthday and she wanted to be the first one to congratulate her older sister, as she did every year.

Yawning, Aster organized her writing desk, putting away the magnificent game she created and made a little run to her bed, her eyes starting to get too heavy to stay open. She tried to stay awake, but it was getting harder and harder by the second, and although she really didn't want to, her mind ended up drifting off to sleep in only a couple of minutes.

There are a lot of reasonable motives which could explain why a 6 years old would have such a light sleep, especially after having the full day Aster did, going to school, doing her homework and playing around with her mom in the afternoon. Maybe because she was still waiting for DeeDee, even in her sleep, or maybe because they weren't being as silent as they thought they were, but the fact is, not even 20 minutes later Aster woke up to the sound of chuckles and giggles echoing in the hallway right outside her room.

Even in her sleepy state, she grinned, excited - DeeDee was finally home! She jumped from the bed, running to her bedroom door and opening just a tiny crack, enough so she could peek at her sister arriving home. Maybe Aster could even sleep with DeeDee in her bed, like they used to do at least twice a week, anyway.

But as soon as Aster opened the door, she realized one thing she wasn't expecting that night - Maddie was not alone. Giggling softly, she entered the corridor, walking backwards while a guy kept his hands on her waist and his mouth glued to hers. They were chuckling softly, hissing at each other to keep quiet, but ultimately failing as they kept kissing and giggling and bumping onto the walls - which obviously was happening because they were not looking at anything but each other.

Maddie's room was right across Aster's, and even though her little sister tried to close the door and hide, she wasn't fast enough - the moment Maddie finally turned on her feet so she could open the door to her own room, her eyes met Aster's icy blue and widened ones.

Shit, she wasn't expecting to find anyone up that late at night, which was the reason why she was sneaking her secret boyfriend to her room. There was a moment of silence between the two sisters, her eyes glued together, both surprised, both trying to think of a way to not get in trouble - Aster for being awake, Maddie for sneaking a guy into her bedroom.
