i wanted to do another music video that wasn't a request, and i know this wasn't on the list of songs you could request, and that was because i kind of forgot about the droplets. but i wanted to do this one, so here goes. this was fun to write, and i hope you enjoy it!

it starts with the camera fixed on a kid that's supposed to be around 6th grade-age. she walks to her locker with her head down, thinking about the election and how disappointed she was when her parents told her who won. when she opens her locker, the production starts. then it switches to taylor in the studio, singing the first verse of the song. it flashes back to the moment when the kid found out who won, and back to her at the locker. she walks down the hallway to get to her first class, singing the chorus as she goes (i got inspiration for this from me singing this song in the hallways after miss americana came out). it switches to taylor in the studio again, then the kid's running in a field when the "can run" part plays. the camera angle switches to show what's behind her, and it's the school, but far away. the second verse is taylor back in the studio and then the kid walking into class, and then the camera keeps switching between the kid and taylor, with the kid singing, more confidently this time, "they aren't gonna help us" and taylor singing "too busy helping themselves". "they aren't gonna change this" is the kid, and "we gotta do it ourselves" is taylor. "they think that it's over" is the kid, and "but it's just begun" is taylor. "only one thing can save us" is a split screen with the kid on the left and taylor on the right and they're both singing it. the chorus is the same idea, but with the kid doing the echo part this time. for the last part of the song, the kid running is the normal echo part, taylor in the studio is the regular chorus part, and the kid walking through the halls is the "don't say you're too tired to fight, it's just a matter of time, up there's the finish line" part. in the end, the kid walks outside and taylor's there to pick her up from school, revealing that the kid was taylor's kid, and that's why they were singing the song together in the video.
