Tom Riddle and his best friend Rodolphus Lestrange were about to leave Slytherin's common room and go to Hogsmeade when they heard a familiar girly voice.
"Roood", the girl whined, clearly bored, as the boys looked at each other and sighed.
"What do you want, Dora?", Rodolphus turned around and didn't even try to hide is irritation.
"I want to go with youuu", she gave him puppy eyes but they were not going to fool him.
His one year younger sister Pandora was not innocent. She was a spoiled brat and he never truly cared about spending time with her. He thought that maybe at school she would find some other friends and finally leave him alone. She did not.
"Piss off, Dora", he told her and he didn't even feel guilty about it.
She gasped and sticked her tongue out.
"Don't do that, for Merlin's sake", Rodolphus hissed, "You're sixteen and you're acting six! Get your act together, young lady!", he mimicked their father but it was not jokingly. He really meant that.
"Oh, look who's talking! Mr. Adult!", she laughed at him and squeezed her eyes at Tom for a long moment, then she turned around and left.
"I'm sorry for her", Rodolphus sighed and looked at his friend, clearly embarrassed. He was tired of apologising for his little sister all the time.
"It's alright", Tom nodded his head but his jaw was clenched.
They left their common room and headed to the main gate.
"You know, my parents wanted to send her to Beauxbatons. Such a shame it didn't work out! I wouldn't have to deal with that brat"
"Why didn't it work out?", Tom asked curiously.
"What do you think? She's too stupid! She can't even say anything in French!"
"Don't you have family there? In France?"
"We do", Rodolphus nodded his head, "But...", he lowered his voice, "I can't speak French either, you know", he admitted.
"Mhm"
"Honestly, she's such a disappointment. Her grades could be better, her behaviour is unacceptable and I'm pretty sure she's a little bit crazy. I already pity her future husband"
"She's just ungrateful. Not aware of her own privilege", Tom told him. He wished to be Rodolphus' brother. To have a rich, noble family and not some muggle surname and second-hand robes.
"She's the bane of my existence. Why can't she let me be? Oh, it's because even her so-called-friends can't stand her!", Rodolphus kept complaining.
"Let's not talk about it. What about Malicia Mulbert? Weren't you supposed to take her to Hogsmeade?", Tom changed the subject.
"Oh, she went there with her friends and we'll meet at The Three Broomsticks. I mean... If you let me", Rodolphus lowered his head. He didn't want to make Tom angry.
"It's alright. I like to walk around alone"
"SO YOU'RE GOING ON A DATE?!", Pandora appeared in front of them out of nowhere.
She was with her best friend, Eileen Prince. Well, Eileen wasn't actually her best friend. But she was following her around and she idolized her. Rodolphus would often make fun of that because he didn't want to admit to himself that he was doing the same to Tom Riddle.
The girls giggled and the boys clenched their jaws, clearly annoyed.
"What are you doing here?! Leave me alone!", Rodolphus yelled at his little sister.
