Dallon's POV

"Calm down, calm down." I said to myself, as I tried to catch my breath. I'd never cried so long and so hard in my entire life, but I had just now.

I had nowhere else to go, so I drove to the nearest McDonald's. I was done with everything, I needed to clear my head.
I ordered a coke, cause I had no idea what else to get, and I felt bad just sitting there in the parking lot.

My phone suddenly went off, and I saw that my best friend was calling me.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Dal!" Ryan said.
"Hey, Ryan, what's up?"
"I was wondering if you wanted to come to my house and swim. I have the biggest pool in my front yard." He said.
"Sharks don't live in pools." I said.
"You know what I mean! Do you wanna hang at the beach or what?" Ryan said.
"Yeah, I need to clear my head." I said.
"What happened?"
"Lacey and I broke up." I replied quietly.
"Woah, really? I'm sorry."
"Yeah, I'm driving to your place now." I said.
"Okay, see you soon, man!"
"Okay, bye."

I sighed, driving to my friend's house, the windows down so I could get some air. I realized I hadn't packed any clothes or anything, so I would have to steal from Ryan.
"He only wears black, so this should be fun." I muttered to myself.

I got a tight hug from my friend, as I walked into his house.
"Hey, man, let's go swimming." He said.
"Right now?"
"Yeah."
"I don't have a swimsuit."

"You can borrow mine." Ryan said, going to grab a pair of black swim shorts. "Catch!"
I caught the shorts, and pulled off my shirt.
"OH SHIT! I'M STILL HERE!" Ryan exclaimed, as I started to unbutton my jeans.
"Calm down, damnit." I said.
"Fine, I'll turn around."

I rolled my eyes at Ryan's drama. "Okay, I'm fine."
"Thank goodness." He said. "Now let's go!"
"Okay." I said, as my friend dragged me outside.

"Race!" Ryan said.
"Oh, we're doing that?" I said.
"Uh huh, ready?"
I nodded.

"THREE! TWO! ONE! GO!" Ryan shouted, both of us running into the ocean.
The water felt so good, as I took a dip under. I had always loved the beach, but I didn't know that it could feel this good. The ocean air does help I guess.

Ryan and I swam around for a while, splashing each other from time to time. I was about to sneak up on Ryan and scare him when a wave crashed over my head. I suddenly felt myself getting pulled back, still stuck underwater. I thrashed around, trying to get away from the riptide. I could feel the air leaving my lungs, as I was rolled upside-down by the waves.

'Is this how I'm gonna go?' I thought, as my vision faded out.

I hadn't really done much today besides hide around in the shadows, there were too many people who were coming out into the water so I couldn't go to the shore and find pretty shells like I always do.

My tail helped me glide through the water easily, though I had to stay pretty low, I'd most likely get into huge trouble if one of the people saw me.

The water was a little rough today, some patches here and there were a struggle to get through, but I managed. I found myself getting closer and closer to the shore without really even thinking about it, it's just something I always did.

I was about to head back, but something caught my eye. What could it be? No fish, or even sharks, come this close to the water's edge.

I decide to get a little closer, but I still stay pretty far down under the water, scared of being caught. I find a few large rocks and I swim down closer to them, hiding behind them so I could get a clear view of what was going on.
