Can't Stand the Rain (SuperM x Reader)

Chapter 10

"If it's not too much to ask, are you guys more than friends?"

The boys pause, looking at each other with worry and fear behind their eyes.

"What... what do you mean?" Taemin mumbles quickly, avoiding eye contact with Y/N.

Y/N shrugs, sighing. "No no, just forget the question. Sorry to ask about that."

"No it's fine," Baekhyun responds quickly. "You just, uh, caught us a bit off guard."

Y/N nods understandingly. "Oh okay."

"Do you, uh," Ten begins uncertainly. "Do you still want to... to know the answer to your question?"

"I'm mean yeah," Y/N hums, nodding his/her/their head slowly. "But if it's uncomfortable or you just don't want to answer, then feel free not to. No worries."

Once again, each of the boys locks eyes with the others, silently daring one of them to explain their relationship. Y/N, however, didn't understand the looks, only seeing glares and wondering in his/her/their head if they were all okay.

(So help me, school started and I am NOT okay)

"So um," Mark begins, only to shut his mouth again.

"We are dating," Taeyong cuts in, getting straight to the point. "All seven of us are in a relationship."

The members of SuperM look over at Y/N quickly, trying to figure out his/her/their reaction to the confession. However, no major sign of shock or disgust shows up, confusing the group.

"So you guys are polyamorous?" Y/N questions, looking towards the members with a stone face, making them nervous.

Kai nods his head, worried. "Uh yeah, that's what we are."

"Cool," Y/N hums lightly, giving the boys his/her/their cute smile.

"Cool?" Lucas gasps, shocked by how little response the news got. "That's all you are going to say? No big freak out moment?"

"Do you want me to have a big freak out moment?" Y/N asks, looking Lucas dead in the eye.

"What Lucas means is," Baekhyun intervenes. "From the few people we have told, we always got big reactions to this."

"To me," Y/N begins softly. "I don't see this as a reason to have a big freak out. Sure, I'm surprised, but I had a hunch about this. Plus, I'm fine with polyamorous relationships so no big exclamation on that end."

"Thank you for being so kind about this," Taemin sends a small smile Y/N's way.

"You don't need to thank me," Y/n responds, waving his/her/their hands. "This is your coming out day, I suppose. The focus should be on you, not someone making a huge scene about it."

"You're amazing," Mark exclaims happily.

"Anyways," Y/N redirects the conversation, blushing. "How did you guys end up dating and becoming a group?"

"We started dating a little bit before the group was formed because we spent some time together on breaks with our different groups or solo careers," Ten starts.

"And the CEO thought it would be a good idea if we became a group since we were dating and all," Kai finishes.

"Wait okay," Y/N stops him, surprised. "So SuperM May not have been a thing if you hadn't started dating?"

"Correct," Taeyong nods.

"Wow," Y/N hums, astonished. "That's actually pretty cool, you guys."

"You think?" Ten asks, amazed at the opinion.

Y/N nods, surely. "Yeah, I think so."

The members of SuperM let out the breaths they still had held in, now completely sure that Y/N was cool with their relationship.

"You know," Y/N begins, his/her/their face dropping. "I should probably head back to school to continue working on my project. I really need to make some more head way."

"Or you could stay for a little while longer," Mark proposed with a small pout visible.

"As much as I would love to stay longer," Y/N gives the members a sad smile. "I really need to get back and work. Plus, I have work in about an hour, so it would be beneficial if I got back now. Sorry guys."

Y/N goes to stand up, his/her/their body moving slowly, not wanting to leave but knowing it must. The boys stand up, leading Y/N out of the practice room with sad smiles and walking to the lobby of SM entertainment with Y/N.

"I'll hopefully see you guys later," Y/N says, waving goodbye as he/she/they turn to walk away from the boys.

"Bye Y/N!" All seven of the boys call after him/her/them as he/she/they leave the building. The boys head back up to the practice room once Y/N leaves, while Y/N walks quickly back to campus.

"Hey you're back!" Jinyoung calls out one Y/N makes it back to his/her/their recording studio on campus. "I thought you were lost to the ages!"

"Why are you in my studio?" Y/N asks immediately, tasing an eyebrow as Jinyoung gets up from his seat in Y/N's desk chair. "Did you need something?"

"Oh no nothing at all."

Y/N sighs. "Then why. Are. You. Here?"

Jinyoung chuckles. "Well, Yeji went ahead back to the apartment and I had some work left to do. So, I decided to wait on you to get back when I finished so I wouldn't have to look like a socially awkward human being having to walk back to the apartment alone."

"You really are something aren't you?" Y/N chuckles rhetorically, shaking his/her/their head endearingly. "Unfortunately, I have to break your heart my friend."

"Wait why?" Jinyoung questions, his head popping up to look at Y/N like a meerkat.

"I've got work soon," Y/N answers quickly. "Which means I probably need to leave like now in order to make it to my shift on time. I don't want Jae getting mad at me because I'm late for work."

"Fucking fine then!" Jinyoung whines, throwing his hands up in fake exasperation. "I'll look like a loner as I walk home alone. I hope you're happy!"

"ecstatic," Y/N deadpans, rolling his/her/their eyes playfully. "Anyways, I have to go now though. Bye!"

"Bye."

Alright guys, I know this is an extremely short chapter. I just started school back, so updated are not going to be regular anymore. I should be able to update at least once every two weeks, but please be patient.
