Can't Stand the Rain (SuperM x Reader)

Chapter 11

     "Hey MinJae!" Y/N calls, entering the campus book store.

       "Hey Y/N" MinJae yells back. "Get your butt to work!"

       "I just got here! And I am still," Y/N pauses to look at his/her/their phone. "Five minutes early!"

       MinJae moves up to the front, standing in front of Y/N with a smirk. "Yeah yeah. Just get to work kiddo."

Y/N raises an eyebrow. "Dude, I'm like two years younger than you."

"Still a kid to me," he hums jokingly, heading out and into the main area of the store.

Y/N shakes his/her/their head and heads behind the counter and into the employee room to drop his/her/their stuff off. He/she/they slip his/her/their phone into the backpack Y/N had with him/her/them and left the room to get to work.

         "Hi Y/N," A girl, a freshmen Y/N thinks, called out in a cheery voice.

        Y/N looks over with a confused smile. "Oh hi! Did you need help finding a book?"

         The girl smiles shyly. "Actually, I had a question to ask you."

       "Oh okay," Y/N hums. "Fire away I guess."

              "Iwaswonderingifyouwantedtogooutwithme," the girl rambles quickly.

        "Could you slow it down a bit?" Y/N chuckles, lightheartedly, trying to calm the girl down a bit.

        The girl takes a deep breath, slowly letting it out. "I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me?"

          "I'm really sorry, but I don't really go out with people I don't know," Y/N apologizes softly. "But hey, I think it was really awesome that you got up the courage to ask me. We could talk some other time if you want."

          The girl still looked sad, but a small smile creeped up on her lips. "Yeah that sounds nice. Well, goodbye."

       Y/N waves her goodbye, going back to work once he/she/they see her move out of view.

     ~ Meanwhile Back at SM~

      "Alright guys," Ten states, plopping down in between Lucas and Taemin. "Let's talk about Y/N."

"Well that was specific," Lucas chuckles, tossing his arm over Ten's shoulders.

Ten rolls his eyes. "Well we need to talk about him/her/them at some point. Or are we just going to ignore that fact that we all have a tiny crush on him/her/them?"

Baekhyun sighs. "I suppose you do have a point."

"How the hell would we even approach the subject with Y/N though?" Mark questions immediately. "We cant just be like 'Hey guess what? Use seven males who are already dating like you and want to take you out! Carry on with your day...'"

"We could do without the sarcasm babe," Taeyong mutters jokingly.

"I have a point though," Mark exclaims, waving his arms around a bit to exaggerate.

"You do have a point," Taemin hums in agreement. "But obviously we can't be that, well, obvious about it. Maybe a subtle approach?"

Kai steps in. "First off, we are all in agreement that each one of us like Y/N, right?"

Nods and words of agreement fill the room.

"Okay then," Kai mutters then nods to Taemin. "Proceed."

       "I mean, we could try and do something with Y/N to make sure that we actually do have a crush on him/her/them," Taemin suggests.

       "Like get to know you dates?" Baekhyun asks.

      Taemin nods.

       "That actually sounds like a really good idea," Lucas agrees, excitedly.

        Taemin jokingly rolls his eyes. "Well don't sound so surprised."

        Lucas pouts playfully. "Sorry."

         "When can we start doing the get to know you dates?" Ten questions eagerly from between Lucas and Taemin.

        "Well we would have to actually ask Y/N whether he/she/they would want to go in them with us," Baekhyun sighs. "And how would we do that?"

       "We could just say that we want to get to know Y/N better," Taeyong suggests. "Cause technically, we really do want to get to know him/her/them better."

      "But say we all end up liking Y/N as much as we think we will," Mark begins, unsure. "Would we be good with adding another person into the relationship? Especially since Y/N could get a lot of media attention if he/she/they hand around us too much."

        "I'd be good with adding him/her/them in," Baekhyun hums, getting sounds of agreement from everyone. "And we will cross the media bridge when it comes I suppose. Right now, let's just see if we can actually get Y/N to agree to the dates."

Mark nods, relieved. "Yeah, that works for me."

"Now," Taemin begins tauntingly. "Who is going to muster up the courage to actually text Y/N to see if he/she/they will come on the dates with us?"

~ Back at the Bookstore ~

"Is this your new record for amount of times getting asked out on duty?" MinJae chuckles, watching another underclassman walk away with a heavy heart.

Y/N glares playfully. "You act as if I'm cruel to them."

MinJae shrugs. "I mean you are nice rejecting them, but it's still going to hurt them for a little while one way or another. Plus, why won't you just give one a chance? You could end up liking them."

"I just don't have a connection with any of the people that come to ask me out," Y/N responds with a shrug of his/her/their shoulders. "Are we done with this topic now?"

"Yeah yeah," MinJae waves him /her/them off. "It's time for your break anyways. Go take a breather."

"You'll be good?"

MinJae nods immediately. "Yeah I'll be good. Now go take a break!"

Y/N brings his/her/their hand up in a joking salute. "Eye eye sir!"

Y/N heads into the break room, immediately grabbing his/her/their phone from his/her/their bag.

From Lucas:
Hi hi Y/N! We had a question for you.

       To Lucas:
Fire away!

From Lucas:
So we were wondering if you wanted to do like friendly get to know you dates with each of us? We wanted to start getting to know you better.

To Lucas:
Sounds fun! I think it would be a cool idea. When would these happen?

From Lucas:
We could probably start tomorrow if you are free after school the next week.

To Lucas:
I should be. I'll see you guys soon then!

From Lucas:
Bye Y/N!
