Chapter 16

"Taeyong are you almost ready to go?" Taemin asks softly, popping his head into Taeyong's room.

"Yeah I'm close to ready," Taeyong hums, taking one last look in the mirror then heading out the door behind Taemin.

"Hey where are you taking Y/N?" Mark questions when he sees Taeyong enter the main room.

Taeyong pecks Mark's cheek as he passes tot he kitchen, calling behind him, "To a farmer's market downtown."

"That's fun," Mark calls. "I think he/she/they will enjoy it."

"Yeah Y/N will definitely like it," Lucas chimes in when he enters the kitchen. "I don't even know what we are talking about, but I'm sure Y/N will like it."

The elder members of the group roll their eyes at Lucas.

"Well thank you," Taeyong hums, chuckling. "And I need to head out now."

~With Y/N~

"Alright I've got 5 minutes until Taeyong is here," Y/N converse in his/her/their head. "Am I missing anything important?"

"I think I'm good," Y/N concludes before turning out of his/her/their room and heading in the living area of the apartment.

"Another date?" Jinyoung asks as soon as he sees Y/N enter.

Y/N nods, not responding verbally and looking down at his/her/their phone.

"Do you like this person?" Yeji piped in, sitting next to Y/N.

Jinyoung shuffles over as well. "Well he/she/they have to if this is the fifth date."

Y/N takes a quick glance at both of them before looking back down at his/her/their phone. "I should have been more clear yesterday, these are friendly dates. I met these guys a little while ago and we became friends, so we are getting to know one another. And I need to leave now."

Y/N stands up. "Bye guys, I'll see you later."

With that, Y/N rushes out the door and heads down the apartment complex stairs. When he/she/they reach downstairs, Y/N cannot see Taeyong yet, so he/she/they lean against the building.

After a few moments, Taeyong's car comes into view and parks, Taeyong waving Y/N over. "Come on Y/N!"

"I'm coming," Y/N calls back, chuckling.

Y/N slides into the car, shooting Taeyong a cute smile. "Alright Taeyong, where are we going?"

"A cafe," Taeyong hums, trailing off. "And a farmer's market."

(Just randomly, if y'all haven't been to a farmer's market you should go. I have no idea why, but I absolutely love them.)

"Oh," Y/N responds, a large smile growing on his/her/their face. "Farmer's markets are awesome!"

Taeyong nods, agreeing. "I know right! I really love the atmosphere."

"And all the stalls!" Y/N continues. "There's always so much to see there."

"It's gonna be fun," Taeyong concludes, starting the car and driving off. "We are going to stop at a cafe first to get some coffee/tea and a few pastries to snack on."

"Cool," Y/N hums, as the car parks by a cafe.

The two head inside the cafe and look at the menu, taking a few moments to figure out what they wanted. Once they order, Taeyong and Y/N take a seat.

"Are you excited for the farmer's market?" Taeyong questions happily.

Y/N nods his/her/their head rapidly. "Definitely! Although I'm not sure my wallet is."

Taeyong chuckles. "Don't worry, it's not going to be used anyways."

"Hold up," Y/N commands. "You will not be paying for anything I want at the farmer's market. Are we clear?"

"Clear as mud," Taeyong hums, beginning to giggle.

A waitress comes by with the two's food, placing it down and exiting. Taeyong and Y/N dig in, happily conversing in between bites. Once they are done eating, they head back out to the car and begin their way to the farmer's market. When the car stops, they both get out and Taeyong grabs Y/N hands immediately.

"It's crowded. I don't want to lose you," Taeyong responds with a blush when he notices Y/N's confused stare.

"Oh okay," Y/N hums with a joking smile gracing his/her/their features.

The two continue on hand in hand, Y/N catching sight of a jewelry stall and excited dragging Taeyong over.

"Taeyongie!" Y/N exclaims once they reach the stall. "Look at how cool this all looks!"

Taeyong chuckles as he watches Y/N look over the jewelry. "It all does look really cool."

Y/N looks over everything for a while, eventually circling back to a simple gold chained necklace with a rose pendant.

"Hi," Y/N begins, speaking towards the stall owner. "How much is this one?"

(I'm using us currency cause I don't really know much about Korean currency, sorry)

"$50," the stall owner replies softly with a smile.

"Okay thank you," Y/N responds.

Taeyong looks at him/her/them. "Are you going to get it?"

"Maybe later," Y/N hums. "If we circle back."

"But you really seemed to want it," Taeyong looks at Y/N confused.

"Yeah but it's a lot of money to pay for one necklace," Y/N responds sadly. "And I'm a college kid who doesn't really have that much money to spare on a necklace."

"Okay then," Taeyong hums, walking off with Y/N.

The two wander around, happily looking through the stalls of the farmer's market. Taeyong ends up buying a couple of antique looking photos.

"Do you wanna go back to the first stall?" Taeyong questions as they finish walking through.

Y/N nods, wandering off and pulling Taeyong with him/her/them. As they reach the first stall they went to, Taeyong walks forward and reaches for the necklace Y/N saw.

"Taeyongie," Y/N begins, slowly. "What are you doing?"

"Well I'm getting the necklace, duh," he hums with a dorky smile.

Taeyong quickly pays for the necklace, despite the complaints coming from Y/N, and hands it over to him/her/them. "There you go Y/Nie."

Y/N smiles slowly, eyes shining as he/she/they look at Taeyong. "Thank you so much!"

Taeyong presses a quick kiss to Y/N's cheek, smiling. "No problem."

After that, the two head out towards the car and head back towards Y/N's apartment complex. When they get there, Y/N gets out of the car and turns back towards Taeyong, yelling out a bye, then heading off into the building.
