Living In The Past (Gabriel)

I think I can live like this

At first, nothing happened. John came over and sat by the hospital chair. Then, everything happened. Dean was lifted out of the bed before he could lunge out of it, ready to attack with everything he had. Cas hugged him tight to his chest while Dean screamed and growled.

"You bastard! Who told you you could show your filthy fucking face here?! Who told-" Dean screamed, cut off by John loudly clearing his throat.

"I was informed my eldest omega son was in the hospital. Naturally, I came as fast as I could to make sure he was alright." John answered, smiling.

Dean struggled harder to get to him. "You goddamn motherfucking liar!"

Gabriel finally managed to shake off the shock and stood between Dean and John. Dean frowned as he looked up at Gabriel, clearly surprised. Gabriel smiled. He grabbed the bed control remote and pressed the call nurse button. "Hi, we have an unwanted guest in our room and we request that security escort him out."

It was that easy. Right as Benny got there, John was being escorted out, looking hurt. Dean glared at him the entire time. "Bastard." Dean snarled.

Benny watched John leave, frowning. "Did I come at a bad time?" He went and sat in the chair John was just in.

"Yes-"

"No." Gabriel shook his head, cutting off Cas with a glare. Dean frowned at Benny. "Dean, this is Benny-"

"I know who he is." Dean nodded. "He's the one who saved me..." He nodded and sighed. "Thank you..."

Benny looked sheepish, nodding. "Of course. I couldn't just stand by and let that happen..."

Gabriel sighed. "Some would, unfortunately." He murmured, running a hand over his face. "But still... thank you." He smiled.

Benny seemed to turn a light pink and nodded, smiling softly at Gabriel.

Gabriel picked up on very light hints of jealousy, like before. However, Gabriel realized it didn't have Cas's earthy tones... Kinda had Sam's more papery tones. Gabriel made a face and looked at Sam, who shifted around in his chair. Why was Sam jealous? Was he upset that Benny was the one to save Dean? That was a weird thing to be jealous of...

Oh well. Alphas were weird. He yawned and curled up in his chair, letting go of the strong, held together mindset. Dean was awake, he didn't need to be fully strong anymore. Dean seemed to have the same idea of sleep, curling into Cas.

Gabriel was currently back at his apartment. Dean was still at the hospital with Cas. And Benny. But Sam was staying with Gabriel. At first, Gabriel was sure he could do it alone. But the first night back, he'd had to go back up to the hospital because he'd gotten terrified. Turns out, all the strength had drained out of him with Dean awake.

He was already having flashbacks again. But, small victories do happen. He could look at his scars without feeling sick. And, he had gotten through a whole day of busyness without freaking out.

Sam made an effort to leave Gabriel alone unless Gabriel came to him. However, Gabriel started to notice small changes in Sam's behavior. Sam was more protective when they did go out, together. Sam also was more physically affectionate.

Gabriel was sure, one time, that he'd caught Sam rubbing some of his scent off on Gabriel before they headed out to dinner together. Gabriel had to admit he enjoyed it...

So, one night, when they were eating pizza at the apartment, alone, Gabriel decided to approach the subject. Dean was gonna be released the next day, so Gabriel decided now was a good enough time. "Sam?"
