"Sora of the MudWings, and Umber of the MudWings, correct?" Asked Queen Morhen, making sure she had the names right so her trial quoter could wright down the correct names.

"Y-yes, your majesty. That's correct," Sora's weak voice confirmed. She was so nervous and didn't hold a very positive outlook on this.

She murdered two dragonets, attempted to murder a princess, and incapacitated a RainWing for months. She was honestly surprised she was even being held at 'trial' and not being executed and having her head on a pike.

Umber was right beside her, trying his absolute best to comfort his sister who was on the verge of tears.

"Ok. You know why you're here, right?" Asked the Queen. Sora and Umber nodded. "You are here on two accounts of first degree murder, attempted regicide, attempted murder, tampering with evidence, disturbance of peace, and resisting arrest."

Tears started to roll down Sora's cheek.

"You are also aware of what you doing, and we're in your right mind?"

Sora honestly had to think about it. "I-I....no. No, I wasn't."

"Were you intoxicated?"

"No."

"Ok. Then would you like to plea insanity?"

Sora looked over to Umber to see what he had to say. "Should I?" She asked quietly.

"I don't know," he answered. "It may get you out of being executed so maybe?" He offered.

She nodded. "I'd like to plea insanity," she announced with her wavy voice.

Morhen didn't look too happy with that. "In that case you will need to undergo mental examination to determine if you were indeed insane either now or during the time of the crime," she paused for a second, as if hesitating. "However, I do not know that even if you are deemed clinically insane that it will save you from execution or a life sentence."

Sora hung her head. Umber rubbed her back with his wing as to comfort her, but what was the point? If she was going to die in a cell then might as well and forget she ever existed.

"And for you Umber," he looked up to his queen with fear, "since you are my subject and your crimes are not involved with other tribes, I choose your punishment." He gulped. "You are being charged with harboring a fugitive, which is usually a punishment of three years, but since not only a young dragonet, but also just sticking with your sister, I'll sentence you to six months in jail, then on parole for a year. Does that seem fair?" She didn't make eye contact until the last sentence.

Neither Sora nor Umber could decide if Morhen was happy or regretful to punish them. She wasn't stuttering, and she sounded perfectly fine, but the way she moved made her seem regretful. Perhaps that was part of her plan though.

Umber decided that was more than fair to him. "Yes, your majesty. I'm fine with that punishment. I-uhm, permission to speak, your majesty?"

"Granted."

He nodded. "We all know that what Sora did was bad and wrong, b-but she's just a child, she only wanted revenge on the dragon that killed our bigwings! The two other dragons that were injured were accidental! P-please, just be lenient with the sentence? A-and! And, it was more of manslaughter than murder. She didn't mean to kill them," he gulped, wondering if he had just made her angry.

"I'll see if I can get a lenient judge, and I'll try to change her crimes from murder to manslaughter but I don't know how much it will help. However, Sora, if you do get a life sentence, would you just prefer an execution? It'll be private and painless." She dipped her claws into ink and got ready to write on the scroll.

"Can dragons visit my cell?" She asked quietly.

"Yes, however there is a limit to just one visit a month."

"No, I don't want an execution." Her voice broke on execution.

"Ok, in that case I can at least assure you there will be no execution."

The room became stale.

2 years later

Umber has just gotten out of prison for 'harboring a dangerous criminal' and the first thing he planned to do was visit Sora.

Sora.... he sighed. She was serving a life sentence, but somehow they managed get the option of parol after 25 years for a very hefty price, but he'd get the money. Him and his siblings. Clay had already started to put aside some money to add to their goal.

When Umber first got out of prison, his family had greeted him happily, and now they were all going to see Sora.

As they showed up outside the capital prison, the guards confronted them and they asked to see Sora. The guards nodded and they called up someone else to lead them to her.

They walked through long dark halls to get to her cell. They went downstairs and she was the first one on the left. "Sora!" Umber said cheerfully.

She picked her head up and her eyes lit up when she saw him. "Umber! You're finally out!" She tried to run up to him at the bars, but a shackle around her neck strangled her once she got too far.

He gave her a bittersweet smile. "Yeah, finally a free dragon again. I hope prison isn't treating you too rough," he said.

"Nah, but we do only get two meals a day, which sucks." Umber winced, he could never survive off of two meals a day. He barely made it through with his three meals a day. Sora chuckled and his reaction. "At least prison hasn't changed you," she said with a bittersweet smile.

Her being in prison has definitely took away the little bit of dragonet happiness she had. Everything here was so dark and gray and a lot of the dragons here were in for cold-blooded murder. She wasn't, it was manslaughter.

"I guess not a whole lot. I definitely see things in a new light though. I'm not as care-free as I use to be."

"Well, that's just part of growing up."

They talked about their experiences in jail so far, how they met new dragons and how they met some nice and shady figures. It was depressing, knowing Sora would spend the rest of her life in their. She wasn't even that old and with how long dragons live, she'd be in there for a century and then some. Assuming she didn't die to a prison riot or some disease before that.

The guard told them that they needed to wrap things up. They both sighed. "Well.... see ya in a month?" Sora asked.

Umber gave her a reassuring smile. "Of course. Every month I'll be right here again, talking to you."

Sora thanked him then the guard escorted him out while three others took Sora back to her cell. Umber struggled to hold back tears. What his sister did was wrong, but life in prison? She deserved better.

What a life wasted.

I know, it's not that good, but I've seen a few people say that Sora should be forgiven for her crimes and say screw that. So this was just a quick chapter in the BEST case scenario for her as well as some tear-jerkers (not really but ya know). Also I haven't updated this since Halloween. Oops
