Chapter 4: Learning about Erika

Narrator POV:

"Oh my Gosh Griffin, are you sure we should like to go on the cruise again?" Crystal asks, taking a sip from her champagne glass.

"I'm certain. Frank and Eunice have already agreed to go on the cruise. We just need this to stay a secret from Drac and Mavis." He replies, placing his hand on hers with a smile, of course only she can see.

She sets her glass down and smiles back. "Like I didn't know, Frank and Eunice had like agreed to join us on the cruise!"

"Yeah! They found out I was going with you and asked if they could tag along!" Griffin replies, taking a sip from his champagne before getting distracted by Wayne and Wanda coming into the hotel. "Wayne! Wanda! Where have you guys been?"

Crystal turns to look at them as they both approach the table they're on. "Yeah, we like hardly saw you this past week."

Wayne merely looks at Griffin and Crystal before sitting down and sighing. "Don't worry about it, guys. What were you two talking about?"

"We were talking about the cruise. We're planning on going once more with Frank and Eunice." Griffin says, smiling at them. "You can come if you want."

"We would love to!" Wanda replies with a beaming smile looking at Wayne; whos is also smiling. With that, Frank, Eunice, and Murry come over from the kitchen before joining them at the table.

"Hey, there! What are you doing over here?" Murry asks before getting told the same thing Wayne and Wanda were. Getting asked and agreeing to go on the cruise with them as well. As the group begins discussing dates to go and things they want to do differently on the journey this year. Frank mentions he wants to try and avoid gambling even though everyone else is skeptical. Before they can finish discussing times and dates (Y/N) approach the table alongside Mavis. They stop just before reaching the group as Mavis hands her a key then walking away. (Y/N) Approaches the table with a smile after hearing them mention the cruise.

"What's this about a cruise?" (Y/N) asks curiously.

Frank turns to her and tilts his head to the side with a smile, "Hi (Y/N) we were just talking about a monster cruise we went on last year."

"Yeah! And like we were thinking of going on it again this year!" Crystal says offering a seat to (Y/N)

(Y/N) sits down next to Crystal and begins turning into a real curious cat, "Okay, I wanna know all about this monster cruise, give me the details! The details!" She waves her hand in the air, excitedly making everyone and herself laugh before listening to everyone tell her about this cruise.

"It's hard to explain really, the best way to explain is to show," Griffen replies thinking of a way to explain all about the cruise.

Murray gets a sudden lightbulb moment as he puts his arm around (Y/N) "Hey, why don't we invite (Y/N) on the cruise!"

"That's a great idea, Murry, oh deary you are going to love it!" Wanda says, putting her paw under (Y/N)'s chin.

"I would love to go! It would be a great chance for me to get to know you all better! Whos going on this cruise may I ask?" (Y/N) curiously says, tilting her head to the side.

"Well, there's us. And now you." Frank replies.

(Y/N) looks at them all confused, "Wait, what about Drac, Mavis, Johnny, and Dennis?" Everyone goes awkwardly silent before glancing at each other wondering whos is going to answer her. She waits patiently in silence, feeling the awkwardness radiating off everyone.

"Um well... were trying to keep this secret from them as its a real touchy subject for Dracula. And we know if we even mention it to Johnny or mavis, they're going to run off and tell Drac about it. Then we're screwed because of it." Eunice replies, breaking the awkward silence waving her hand around with sass.

"Huh, why is this a touchy subject for Dracula? Did something happen last year?" (Y/N) asked concerned

Frank looks down for a moment before saying, "Well, last year, the cruise was a plan to lure all monsters to Atlants, to kill them. It didn't work, as you can see, thanks to Dracula and the Captain of the ship. Erika. His ex-fiancee. She's the reason it's so touchy for him. She was the second love of his. He thought she loved him, but it turns out she didn't. She ran out on their wedding for some other cruise director on the ship."

"That's awful!" (Y/N) replies in shock. She thought to herself for a moment before getting up, "I'm going to head to my room. Don't forget to tell me any changes to the plan. And don't worry, your secret safe with me." With that, she left for her room. She was pondering to herself if she should ask Drac about Erika on their date later. She decides not to worry about it for now and that she needs to focus on getting ready for the date instead.
