Chapter 9: The Message

THALIA'S POV

I dash into my house excited to spend the rest of my day with Nash. Opening the door, I see Dustin sitting on the couch playing Xbox.

"Hey."

"Oh hi," he pauses the game and turns around. "Where were you last night? I was worried," he gave me the brotherly glare.

"Sorry I didn't tell you, I fell asleep in the car coming back from hanging out with Nash, and he took me to his house. Don't worry, Nothing happened." With that I ran upstairs to my room, Dustin running behind me firing questions.

"Enough Dustin, I have to change," I slammed the door and locked it. I strolled over to my giant walk in closet to pick out an outfit. I finally settled with some black jeans, a sweater, a black beanie, and my teal VANS.

I change and walk into my bathroom to apply my makeup. I open my makeup cabinet and sort through several different pallets until I find the right one. I set it on my sink and apply foundation to my makeup brush.

As I look in the mirror, I see the deformed creature that has been in my dreams every night, staring back at me. I have never actually seen the monster's face before, until now. It looks familiar, too familiar.

I slowly reach my hand out, to find it imitating me with the same motion. It's transparent eyes meet mine as if it was looking right through me. But I feel as if it was looking inside me, deep into my soul.

Our hands, now parallel to each other, join at the surface of the glass, and both worlds combine into one. Pleasure and ecstasy fill me, and I'm not afraid. I feel as if she is trying to communicate to me on a subconscious level.

Don't be afraid Thalia, I am only trying to help you. I come into your dreams and thoughts as an aide, not as the monster you always refer me to. Don't push me away, instead let me in. And if you don't accidents will happen...
