I walked back to my tent, sighing.

Edmund was waiting outside, leaning against one of the poles.

"There you are."

I tilted my head, the moon had risen a few hours ago and it made his face look like it was glowing.

"Did you need me?" I said and he smirked.

"Wanna take a walk?"

I raised an eyebrow.

"Where are we going?"

"I was thinking the stream."

I nodded slowly.

"Alright."

We walked side by side down the path, not speaking until we got there.

I leaned against a tree, Edmund a few feet away.

"Will you tell me what's going on now?" He asked, staring at me.

"What do you mean?"

"After the Witch left, you and Aslan both looked horribly depressed. Why?"

I shrugged.

"We weren't. We were just relaxing our faces."

He gave me a look.

"I'm not going to tell you, Edmund. The less you know, the better it will be." I stepped toward him.

He tapped his sword hilt.

"I can just ask Aslan. Or the trees. They might have been close enough to-"

I stopped him by leaning up and pressing my lips against his.

He went completely rigid, then relaxed and kissed me back.

I pulled away after a few seconds, staring up at him.

"Does that satisfy you?"

His eyebrows furrowed.

"What does that have to do with my question?"

I chuckled.

"Nothing. I just had to it before..."

"Before what?"

I shrugged, shaking my head.

"Before I went to bed. Big day tomorrow." I forced a smile.

Edmund was clearly not buying it, but he nodded anyway.

"Yea we should get some sleep."

We walked back up the ridge, he went to his tent again, me to mine.

I unbuckled my swordbelt and laid it on my bed then brushed my hair out.

I walked outside again and into the woods.

It took a couple of hours to get there, but the closer I got, the louder it became.

Shouts, howls, bellows, roars, and shrieks were just some of the noises as I came into the clearing.

Torches illuminated the horde of minotaurs, wolves, dwarves, werewolves, hags, and creatures out of your nightmares.

The White Witch was in the center of it all, standing on the Stone Table.

I kept my head high as I walked through the creatures, hissing whenever they touched me.

When I reached the stairs to the Table, Jadis nodded to her dwarf and minotaur.

They forced me to my knees and yanked off my wrist bracers and cut the straps of my breastplate.

I watched the minotaur stomp on them until they were crumpled beyond repair.

Tears pricked my eyes but I didn't let them fall.

The dwarf tied my hands and ankles together, then gagged me with a cloth tied around my head.

The minotaur pulled me up the stairs and dumped me on my side next to the Witch.

She smiled.

"I'll be right with you, dear. We have one more guest joining us."

I shifted so I could see the way I came.

I cried out, muffled by the gag.

Aslan was walking through the crowd, stopping at the Table.

"Behold. The great Lion." Jadis jeered.

The horde laughed.

Aslan growled as the minotaur poked His side with his axe.

Jadis nodded and the minotaur shoved Aslan onto His side.

I was crying now, the sobs muffled.

Creatures bound Him with black ropes, then the Witch ordered Him first be shaved.

The dwarf leaned down and cut a piece of golden mane from His neck.

I whimpered as creatures cut and hacked Aslan's mane off, throwing the fur aside.

"Bring Him to me." Jadis called when they had finished.

The dwarves and the minotaur pulled Aslan up the stairs roughly, putting Him across the Table from me.

We stared at eachother, His full of grief and love.

We would never see the Narnians again.

I would never see Edmund again.

The creatures' noises had grown louder, Jadis flung out a hand and they went silent.

Then staffs started pounding in a rhythm on the ground.

Bellows and howls began again, along with other noises.

The Witch knelt between us, stroking Aslan's mane and my hair.

"You know, I'm a little disappointed in you both. Did you honestly think that all this would save the human traitor? You're giving me your lives and saving no one." She said. "So much for love."

I jerked away from her hand and she stood again.

"Tonight, the Dark Magic will be appeased!" Cheering. "But tomorrow, we will take Narnia, FOREVER!!"

I sobbed again, Aslan locked gazes with me and I could feel him purring through the stone.

"In that knowledge, despair," Jadis said, pulling out two stone knives.

Aslan looked away from me towards where we came into the gathering, I did the same, I saw Susan and Lucy in the bushes.

The two of us stared at them until the Witch knelt again and raised her knives.

"And die!" She plunged the knives into our chests.

I gasped through the gag, then I saw a boy beside me on the table, holding out his hand and smiling.

Lucas.

I smiled and took his hand, surrendering to the darkness.
