Webby kept her eyes trained on Luis as they trudged through the woods. She saw Louie's golden kolepsh that he had used when they were in the temple of Thoth Ra. That had been so long ago now it seemed, and Webby just wanted what they had back. But she knew that was wishful thinking at this point.

She didn't want to go back being alone, in the mansion again, with nothing but...

Webby shooked herself.

No.

She wasn't going back there. She couldn't stop seeing the shocked and hurt look on Dewey's face. Her stomach tangled in guilt didn't help matters either.

Webby felt herself inch her hand towards it. She was sure Luis had completely forgotten he had it strapped to his back. After the run in with the wereduck he had easily strapped it back to his back and smirked in her direction behind Huey's back as if he too remembered how lame his counter part wielded it. Webby had just frowned at him.

Now, maybe she could -.

"I did say," Luis said, making Webby freeze, "that there was other reasons why I exist." He told her, and stopped walking making Webby bump into him and fall down onto a bunch of dead leaves and twigs.

She glared up at him as Luis slowly turned and loomed over her.

"Like what?" Webby asked, staring him down as Luis knelt down eye level to her.

"You already know half of it, don't you? Why else did you decide to come with me. I know it wasn't because you like me, or love Louie. It's always been Dewey, I know it. Louie doesn't. So, you tell me." He smirked at her.

Webby's heart pounded hard against her chest.

"Y,You are still protecting them." She said, finally.

"Well, pretty and smart." He said, clicking his tongue against his teeth making goosebumps crawl up Webby's arms. "Too bad I only like one of the other." He said.

Ouch.

That hurt Webby like a ton of bricks, and yet, she couldn't help but want to change his mind. Want Luis to like her because of both of those things instead of just the one she was pretty sure he liked.

"What I don't get," Webby said, as she struggled to pick herself up off the ground, "is why you had to leave them to do it. I saw the look in your eyes when you mentioned Luther. Luis." Webby told him. "It's got something to do with him, doesn't it."

Luis stared at her for a long time, then, sighed and took off his kolepesh and handed it to her, catching Webby totally off guard and stared at him in dismay.

"You'll need to protect yourself." He told her.

"W,What am I protecting myself from?" Webby asked. "You, or the wereducks?"

Luis looked at her sadly.

"Both." He muttered. "But if you want to know more, I'd hold off on doing anything just yet." He said, a bit more loudly as he trudged on ahead. "Honestly though," Luis continued as he went on ahead of her. Webby gripped the kolepesh tightly in her hand, hesitated then ran to catch up, "I'd love to see us fight, I can show off my own fighting skills. Bet I'd win." He said, and winked over at her.

"That's a bet you'd loose." Webby shot back. "Tell me, what is it you are keeping from Huey and Dewey." She ordered.

"Wereducks," Luis began, as they made it to the edge of the forest. "Have a sixth sense," He told her as he stepped across a babbling brook that Webby hadn't seen before now. They must be going a different way, from the way they came. Webby assumed it was to avoid the wereducks hunting trail. "They can smell curses." He said.
