"Hey," Jamie grinned, walking up to me. It was nearing midday, and I was standing by the gates of the park on the cold Sunday morning. He looked good in a blue beanie, with his side fringe showing. "Hi," I blushed as we began strolling along the path.
"There's something I need to know. Can I ask you something?" I enquired.
"Sure."
"Well, I know it sounds weird, but what made you want to meet up with me in the first place? I mean you're hot, popular, funny, incredibly fit...and I'm just boring and weird," I said, the words flowing out of my mouth before I could stop them.
"Did you say I'm hot and incredibly fit?" He smirked. Blushing uncontrollably now, I replied with a meek yes.
"Aw, that's so cute! Well, you're kind, smart, fun and really pretty." I was certain that by now my cheeks were bright red.
"Pretty? In my dreams."
"Are you are joking?! You are actually the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, I mean it," Jamie said seriously, turning and staring into my eyes. The gaze held for a minute, before he broke it off. "Anyway, there's a burger van. Shall we go grab a bite to eat?" Jamie quickly gabbled, changing the subject. It was his turn to blush now.
---------------------------------------------
"Um, you've got a bit of sauce there," I smiled, wiping the ketchup off Jamie's soft cheek with my napkin. We were sitting on a frosty bench, quite far apart. My hand accidentally brushed along his jaw. When we touched it was like sparks flew off in all directions. I drew my hand away quickly. He turned and stared at me intently, like he wanted to say something. "What?" I giggled.
"Huh?"
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
"Because you're beautiful." Woah, tfios moment! I don't know if he meant for it to be from the book or he was just being really sweet, but it was romantic either way. He continued talking: "I've never met a girl who could be so caring, affectionate and stunning all in one."
I laughed lightly. "Shut up! You don't mean it, do you?" I smiled.
"If I didn't mean it I wouldn't say it." Jamie was quite shy, I new it took a lot of courage for him to say that. "Ugh, it's so cold! I knew I should have brought my coat with me," I sighed, kicking the ground.
"Oh, here, wear mine," Jamie replied, taking off his coat and wrapping it around my shoulders.
"No, I feel guilty now! You only have a t-shirt!" His bare, muscular arms already had goosebumps.
"Well we can share it then," he beamed, wrapping half of it around himself. We huddled closer together, and sat there for what seemed like years, talking, smiling, laughing. I loved it.
----------------------------------------------

"So tell me how it went! Describe everything! What were you wearing?!" Amy squealed down the phone.
"So I was wearing my maroon Hogwarts jumper, jeans and red converse, and..." I began, describing the whole event to her. After I ended with him giving me a goodbye hug that lasted longer than 5 seconds, I asked Amy about her trip to the park with Ron on Saturday.
"Well, Ron looked so cute. He was wearing a Percy Jackson t-shirt, jeans and black converse. Oh, I love everything about him. When you stare into those fixed green eyes under his soft black hair, it's just magical!" I laughed, and she carried on explaining.
"But what do you think it meant? Was it a date?" Amy said, her tone of voice suddenly dropping.
"I don't know. Ask him tomorrow."
"But I can't wait until then! I need to know if he likes me!"
"Well, did you exchange numbers?"
"Yes! It's the first thing we did!"
"Well text him, and tell him how you really feel about him!"
"Yeah, okay. I'll see you tomorrow at school. Thanks for the advice, bye!"
-------------------------------------------

The next day went by really fast. Amy told me that Ron had asked her to be his girlfriend the last night. She was about to text him everything on her mind, but he rung her and asked her out anyway. He spent most of the morning with us. Not that I really cared, but I wished Jamie would want to be with us as well.

At lunch, Amy and I were about go to the library when Jamie approached us. "Hi, can I come with you guys?" I looked over at his friends, who were snickering at the front of the room and watching us.
"Yeah, sure. Amy, do you want to invite Ron as well?" Amy skipped over to him in excitement. Soon we were all sitting in the hard seats of the library. But it wasn't like our usual lunch break. This time we were all whispering and laughing. It was much more fun than just reading by ourselves. For the rest of the afternoon we stayed together unless there was a seating plan for the lesson. In fifth period- the last of the day- Jamie's seat was next to Tom's. I thought they were friends, but every time I looked over, Tom would either be poking Jamie and laughing, or completely ignoring him, even if Jamie wanted to talk. What was going on?
