Oikawa Tooru was pretty extra when he tried -- roses by the dozen in a variety of colors that individually meant different things, chocolates tailored to types you liked such as fruits, and clothes that suited every season in terms of color and category. Many girls commented on your luck; Oikawa was not only quite the catch, but also an extremely attentive lover who liked to pamper you during the little time he had in between volleyball and school.
"Oh, you're wearing the aviator jacket today! You look cute." Oikawa — a second year university student with fame that rivaled a few famous figures on your campus — continued to do what he loved best and dressed you up for special dates he could arrange months in advance. This month's venue gave off a wonderfully comfortable vibe: the dim lighting and warmth of the large fireplace made you feel right at home while you and Oikawa discussed his latest exploits. He had been busy with not only interviews, but other ventures outside of his sport that made him a bit sheepish with his self image.
"I mean this is all well and good, but volleyball is an important thing to me! Like, these gigs have good pay and all, but it's not what I want..." Oikawa trails off as he continues to rant and complain about his teammates or pushy reporters; you always liked to listen and occasionally comment on Oikawa's lifestyle before going silent and encouraging him to continue speaking.
"If I do it, it means that I'll have less time for you too!" Oikawa's hands go up to grasp his head as he sighs and gives you an annoyed expression. You knew Oikawa's answer already to these offers, but you knew he treasured your opinion on these recruitment events.
"You don't have to ask me about this, you know that Tooru." Thankfully there's enough space on the table for you to reach out and grab his hand. Oikawa smiles at your familiar gesture and gives you a strained smile — he truly poured his heart and soul in furthering his volleyball career.
"I'm... god I'm so lucky to have someone who knows me so well." You smiled at your frazzled brunette before tightening your grip around his fist to reassure him.
"After all, I thought about possibly going into modeling so you can come travel with me. A lot of the agencies offered to let me bring you around for free. Free!"
You laugh; Oikawa only seriously considered these offers because he was able to further spoil you. You were grateful for such a loving and thoughtful boyfriend, but urged him to worry less about you and more on practice and his matches.
"Then please keep supporting me, ________. That's all I'll ever need from you." God this anniversary was perfect.
