His fingers found themselves flicking and tugging gently at your own loosely grasping his large hand. Oikawa had suggested taking a nice nap after a long day of work and school, but he couldn't help but stay up after you long found yourself in sleep. Maybe it was because he liked the fact that he wasn't pressured to do anything with you? Maybe it was because the both of you didn't need to say a word to each other because it was never awkward? There were a lot of questions and possible explanations as to why Oikawa loved being in your presence, but none of them were satisfactory to quenching his curiosity.

As the brunette found his body sinking into the mattress, he found himself flipping his body over to his side to get a good look at your relaxed features: your eyebrows weren't lifted upward in questioning or knit together in frustration, your mouth mouth was straight and appeared to be slightly curved upward at the edges, then there were those cute tiny breaths escaping the tiny open space of your parted lips.

You looked so comfy that it made him jealous of your nap.

Oikawa felt it was pointless to keep himself up over why he adored you with every part of his beating heart, but the questions and self-reflection staved away the drowsiness that attempted to close his heavy eyelids. The more Oikawa's gaze lingered on your peaceful visage, the more Oikawa wanted to sleep nestled under the fleece corgi-patterned blankets the both of you bought. Maybe he would hold your hand before he allowed himself a catnap, but it was probably better to wrap his arms around you so he could fully relax and erase his pointless concerns.

"I love you." He whispers your name, pecks you on the tip of your nose, then joins you as he pulls your tired body into his arms and closes his eyes. The silence brings him peace as Oikawa finally finds himself holding you in his dreams.
