"OH, HELLO, EDDY?!"

Brett shouted at Eddy across the room. "Watch where you are going!" He added. "ME?" Eddy shouted back. It had been five years since they were married and this was not the first argument they had. They had a lot before, but they were disagreements; solved by talking things out. But this was something new. Maybe it was the result of never fighting before. Things were hot as lava in the house, not because of the weather, no. It was mid-winter. But because of the two men arguing inside over something. "I don't care? ME? How can y-" Eddy shouted, hurt by something Brett said. "YES! You never do something which I want!" Brett shouted throwing a pillow at the ground near his feet. "I don't?" Eddy started fuming now, too hurt to feel anything. He started feeling numb. He wouldn't last even a minute more in this house. "You know what? I don't want to talk to you!" Brett shouted, tears forming in his eyes. Eddy was full-on raging now. He turned around and went out of the house, slamming the door shut. The loud bang followed by a silence told Brett that Eddy was gone. "I'll be back later." Eddy had mumbled angrily before leaving and Brett heard that.

But for now, it had been three hours forty-five minutes and Eddy had not returned. He had taken the car and left. Gone to God-knows-where. Brett had calmed down a lot now and he felt really guilty. Eddy was out in the cold over a stupid argument. Brett felt his guilt hit him like a truck and every inch of his body needed Eddy. He decided calling Eddy and apologizing, and pleading for him to come back. The phone rang but no one picked up, only making Brett feel more miserable. He called again, but the same happened.

It had been four hours fifteen minutes now, since Eddy left. Brett had called twenty one times but no one picked up. He even cried for a long time, apologizing to the listening walls for his stupid mistake. He started feeling really anxious. Just when he was about to call Eddy again, his phone rang, with his screen showing his beloved husband's photo.

But he was not ready for what came after that. No one could be.

Oh how stupid could you be Brett?
