Chapter 11- The Set Up

Y/n awoken, expecting to be brought with the sound of Aang's snoring but she was wrong. There was nothing but silence in the room.

Ready for a last day ceremony with the village, she slipped on her slippers and grabbed her towel. Y/n had to journey a little way out of the village to have a bath. When she got to the area and did her bathing, then y/n went on walking back to Gaoling. Mind she was just in a robe now.

Passing by a group of older teenagers, all from fifteen to sixteen she sped up. Amongst those boys were Rai and Namcho. "Hey! Avatar Y/n where you going?!" Rai yelled. She didn't respond at kept on walking until one of Rai's friends pointed out that she was naked.

One of them was evil enough to consider exposing her. They wanted to see what was on a twelve year old's body. Y/n had boobs, and she had a butt too with a very tiny waistline, but it wasn't much as yet. She was still developing.

As she continued walking y/n neared the hut. Finally close, she slammed the door behind her rushing to her room! There y/n saw her fire nation clothes already set up.

With a smoke filled sigh she first slipped on her shirt then her tights. Over the shirt she wore a fabric that was immune to fire, and above that was her main clothing. A knee-length dark red pants, with a half armoured tank top. Her shoulder blades slightly showing as the rest of her top ran up the her elbow as sleeves and down her body, only leaving her belly button and up to the bottom of her breasts available in a triangle like cut out.

Of course from there, you could see her hard rock abs. Y/n stared herself in the mirror and imaged Haru behind her. That old geezer.

Her thoughts were ruined by a knock on the door. "Yes?" Y/n called. Rai peeked his head in, "Avatar Y/n! It's Aang!" She said not more and ran out the house wearing her iron wristbands, and the bracelet he made her.

They let running until they left the village! On the branch of a tall tree tied up was Aang! His hands and feet were bound, so he couldn't even try to escape. Below him was a giant fire that itched it's way to the tree quickly, since there was a heavy wind that day!

"Aang!!" Y/n called to the boy. He looked at her. "Y/n! Don't come any closer! I can get out of this!" Just as he said that the branch cracked and Aang's eyes turned white. "I-I can get out of this on my own!"

Y/n faced Rai and grabbed him by the shirt tightly, "who the hell put him up there?!" "I-I don't know! Honest!" She huffed pushing him back, then looked to Aang. "I'm coming for you! Don't move around too much, or you'll die!" She screamed at the bald boy. "Yeah, I KNOW!!"

Y/n walked closer to Aang. One step and the earth beneath her crumbled! "Shit!" Y/N!!" The avatar barely clinged to the rocks and looked down. Beneath her was a huge pit, and in that pit was a forest, burning to the ground. She looked back to Aang, "I'm getting us out of this!" The fire was at the root of the tree, and the branch cracked again.

Aang was praying. His eyes tightly closed. Y/n looked around her and noticed that the rocks were enough for her to grip. Digging her nails into every rock she slammed her palm on, y/n inched her way to Aang. She tried to go fast, but the tree was burning faster and faster.

Again, the branch cracked and Aang screamed, "y/n if I die just continue becoming the avatar!" "If you keep talking bull I'll let you die on purpose you idiot!!" Y/n yelled to him. At last it couldn't hold, and Aang fell fast into the forest fire. "AANG!" Without a second thought she jumped in after him and wrapped her arms around Aang.

They crashed through tree after tree and finally landed in a big puddle of mud. Groaning y/n looked to Aang who lay on top of the princess. "Are you...okay?" Her eyes were lazy, and she wasn't breathing well. Her body sustained many burn marks, but none was on Aang. "Why? Why'd you do it?" He asked her.

Aang's brown eyes filled with tears and he cried into her chest, "you're an idiot! You're a fool! You could have saved yourself instead you saved me!!" "Aang!" He looked into her e/c eyes. "I'm gonna be fine flight bag. Just help me up by getting off." He got off her feeling embarrassed.

Y/n stood shaking, and stared around. The place was hot, and it felt like their flesh was peeling off. "On a count of tree we out this fire." She tells Aang calmly, "right." "One! Two! THREE!" Quickly they separate and Aang started putting the fire with the wind. Y/n in the meantime harvested the fire making it her own as she used air to out some at the same time!

By the time they were done, it was already night. Exhausted they collapsed to the ground panting.

Rai, Namcho and a few of his buddies come running over with silly grins on their faces! For what y/n didn't know, and did not want to find out. "Hey! You two are close again!" Rai yelled. "Huh?" Aang says. "We set you two up so you could talk to each other again! You've been so distant!"

Y/n placed two and two together. After one minute she stood and slammed Rai to the ground, "are you frickin crazy?! How can you do that to us?! We could have died and you set this up with your stupid friends!!" "Ow! Ow! I'm sorry princess! We just really wanted you to get along!" Y/n sighed and rubbed her forehead.

"That was reckless Rai, Namcho." Namcho rubbed his neck, "I tried telling this idiot not to, but he wouldn't listen."

A few hours later Aang and Y/n get on Kazan, ready to go to Ba Sing Se. Before they left though they had an unexpected surprise! Rai was traveling with them! They had installed a vertical triangle travel saddle on Kazan that wasn't so hard for the dragon to carry.

"Please be safe Rai, and tell your uncle I said send us clothes dammit!" Rai nodded to his father, "yeah I will!" He got in the saddle with his bag. Within it was food to last them a few days.

"Kazan, let's go!" The dragon left Gaoling.

In the air Rai looked about the place flustered. He was scared, and tried calming down! Y/n found a way to calm his nerves miraculously! All she had to say was, "if you're so scared let me kick you off." Then he calmed down.

She lay back for a while taking a break as Kazan flew on turning to the brown headed earthbender. "So, your uncle's a great earthbending master in the big city?" "Yup!" He popped the p. Rai then fetched into his bag and pulled out a picture of the family. There was him, his mother and father, then three unknown others. Two other men and a woman.

"My uncle's the man with the scowl next to my dad!" Rai pointed to a black headed man with a short beard. Aang at last interrupted. "Y/n! I'm glad you're so determined to be the avatar, but we have to take this one at a time! We've only been out here for five months now, and next month is the new year. How about we take it slow? You haven't mastered air bending, but you're exceptionally well in it! Now, you're tackling earth. I really think you should get a hands-on grip on air before you jump into earth!"

Y/n faced Aang and glared at him as fire surrounded her hair! That has never happened before. "Oh you screwed up~" Rai whispered. "I respect your opinion Aang." Oh, that was a first!

She turned and kept her hands on Kazan's neck. "But I have to complete this before my sixteenth birthday, so I could return back home a full on avatar." Aang knew there was more to just that, but he didn't say.

She closed her eyes and sighed. The night dragged on, and eventually they found another bigger cave to crash for the morning.

Rai dragged himself to a corner and flopped on ground. "Ah! EARTH!" He closed his brown eyes and snuggled more into the ground, then made himself a rock tent, doing the same for Aang and y/n.

Y/n sighs and got under her separate one, but not before being confronted by Aang. They stared at eachother, but didn't say much. "Are we... together now?" Aang asked. "No." Y/n tried telling him as kindly as possible. Aang understood, and simply hugged her tightly with tears rolling down his face, to which he made sure it didn't touch her.

They break apart at he was tear free, "goodnight, y/n." Aang left to his tent and got in. Y/n got in hers as well and lay there for a while just staring at the ceiling. She looked to her left, seeing the bracelet still on her wrist. A tear slipped down her eyes, and y/n slept in the silence of the cave.
