I awoke and climbed out of the window making sure not to wake up Temari. I sat there for ten minutes, hoping that Gaara wouldn’t accidently show up. I’ve found that he stays on the roofs during the nights due to the fact that he never sleeps. I began looking around, ‘Sasuke is suppose to be here in 2 minutes.’ I thought while looking at the moon's position; I looked around then saw him jump from the next roof over to my side.
“What do you want to talk about?” he asked.
“Quick and to the point? No sibling love? Well the only reason I wanted to meet so privately was because nobody but my team knows about our, how should I put this? Siblingry?” I said teasingly.
Sasuke sighed and looks at me unamused.
“Where is Itachi?” I asked him getting to the point.
I saw that, when I mentioned Itachi's name, Sasuke physically got agitated.“How should I know where that monster is?” he asked.
I looked up at him angrily, “Itachi is not a monster! He saved me!”Sasuke looked at me, “How did he save you? He took you away from your family!”
“The only family I had was Itachi! Those monsters that we called parents didn’t care about me! They never even let me talk to you; they didn’t want me to 'spoil your mind’ or something! That’s why you don’t remember having a sister!”
I looked up at the moon pissed. I finally snapped out of my trance when Sasuke grabbed my arm and pulled me into a hug. I was stunned at first but then I hugged back chuckling.
Sasuke let go of the embrace, “Why are you laughing?”
I looked at him and the next thing I knew the sand was pulling me away from Sasuke.
“Hey Gaara.” I said.
My voice had completely recovered from the past endeavor.
I smiled at my brother and answered his question, “I was laughing because you don’t seem like a ‘huggy’ person.”“Well anyway, I’m tired, g'night!” I said not giving him a chance to reply as I grabbed Gaara’s arm and had us jump down from the roof onto the ground.
We entered the hotel doors and began walking up the stairs to our rooms.
“Why did you do that?” Gaara asked in his usual cold-sounding way.
“Do what?” I asked while going over what had just happened trying to find what he was referring to.
“Talk to him? You know what we might have to do to him in the exams.” He said.
"He's my real brother. I guess I needed some proof that he was or something. I don't really know."I replied.
Gaara said no more after that and teleported somewhere. I had to think about this. I walked up the stairs to my room and onto my bed. I did so as quietly as I could so I wouldn’t wake up Temari and soon fell asleep. After all I was going to need some rest for the next exam tomorrow.I woke up to the sound of Temari leaving again, probably to go practice with her fan in some field. I did my morning routine and jumped out of the window onto the street. As I did this I felt a strong presence near me, following my every turn. I felt the same presence the day before, but had thought nothing of it because I was in a room full of ninja. I walked until I saw a clearing, knowing that I was being followed and not wanting to make a scene. I stopped at the middle of the clearing and called out to the ninja.
“I know that you’re there, so just come out.” I said.
I heard a slight chuckle from behind me.
“As sharp as ever are we?” I heard a sly voice say from behind me.
I turned around, “Cut the chat Orochimaru.”
He came out of the bushes,
“How long have you known I was here?” he asked curiously.
I thought about it, “Well, I felt your presence yesterday.” I said.
He looked up at me, “Who helped you? I know that you're good, but I don't doubt you're that smart.”
“Let’s just say I was a genius yesterday.” I said without emotion, remembering my jutsu from the exam.
He exhaled in thought, “You Uchiha’s do intrigue me so.”
He walked up to me and smirked, “It’s too bad I can't have you. You have much more talent than your brother.”
I looked over at him, “You already tried that on me, but what do you want with him?”
He chuckled and brushed passed me, “Just to give him a little curse.”
I looked over at him darkly, “You wouldn’t dare. He doesn’t even know about you!”
He didn’t even turn around when he said, “Yes, but he is an avenger. He is almost guaranteed to join me sooner or later.”
I looked at him, “An avenger on who?” I asked.
He disappeared but his voice still remained, “Think about who Sasuke hates. Just think about it.”
I sighed a sat down. What a reunion I have had since my arrival to Konoha! First, I got to see my twin that I thought was dead since I was 4. Then I saw Orochimaru! We have an interesting past. I sighed as I remained in the spot, 'Would Sasuke really kill Itachi?'
“What are you doing out here?” I turned around to look at Gaara.
“I’m just…” I began looking around frantically for a rational reason for being out here, “I was um, looking at the animals. Yeah, the animals.” I said as a squirrel ran by.
I looked up at him, knowing that he didn’t buy it.
“Fine, you don’t want to tell me…” he said as he looked up at the sky, I followed his gaze and realized how late it had gotten.
“Crap! We have to get to the exam.” I said while running off, towards the forest of death.
