all the students gathered back into the stadium, many of them either excited about the news of their advancement or living in the embarrassment of their loss. yukiko was one of the few that was too nervous to process any type of emotion.

she was using this sports festival as a way to see if her quirk was back, or whether she'd have to adapt to her life as a rejected quirkless wannabe. sighing softly, they waited for the announcement of the next game.

"i hope it's something really cool!" yurei cheered, her fists balled, "i wanna show off how cool i can be."

"i bet it's going to be something even worse than before." toshino sighed.

yukiko chuckled, "it's too bad mahiro isn't here to see the results with us. she has to sit up in private seating." she looked up to area mahiro sat, smiling and giving a small wave, which the girl reciprocated, leaning against the railing before sitting back all by herself in the private seating, her teammates sitting off to the side, holding their own conversations.

yukiko turned her head back to the front of her. the three stood in anticipation, staring straight ahead, anxiety growing more and swelling in yukiko's chest.

the second game was: tug of war.

everyone groaned.

"quit holdin' out on us!" a student even shouted. "you give those first year bastards a badass obstacle course around the school and we have to tug a piece of rope?!"

they do make a good point, yukiko thought, the class discrimination seems pretty apparent between the two years.

Examimate cleared his throat, "there will be one team of 50 on one side, another on the other side. whoever tugs the tied ribbon onto their side gets to advance onto sparring. quirk use and support gear is highly recommended, but not mandatory."

yukiko scoffed, "a tug of war? are they under estimating us?"

"seems like it." toshino sighed, "i wonder if the second years last year thought the same thing."

"well, whatever team you guys get chosen for, i hope you give it your all!" yurei smiled brightly.

a few of Exanimate's undead risen from the ground stepped up to all the rows of students, offering out a bowl where they reached in and pulled out a piece of paper.

the paper was either numbered 1 or 2, and which ever one you got would be the team you were on. yukiko pulled out a 1.

"team one." toshino smiled, showing the paper.

"are we all team one?" yurei cheered, "yay! we get to be on the same team!"

yukiko chuckled softly, "let's win this one, okay? toshino, how strong are your sticky hands?"

"vectors. and i'm not sure."

"sticky hands, vectors, tendrils, who cares? we're on a team together!" yurei wrapped her arms around both of their necks, giggling.

toshino patted her stomach, "i'm hungry. do you think they'll give us a lunch break?"

"i hope! i want another batch of banana balls." yurei kicked her legs. "i can pay this time."
