It was Lisa's first day at Seoul University; she was nervous, to say the least.

She never had a problem with making friends in Thailand. Lisa was a social butterfly, and she brightened every room she entered.

But this time, she wasn't so sure. Korea is a completely different country, and she knows no one. She tried to be her usual optimistic, cheerful self... but she just couldn't bring herself to keep up the act.

The Thai walked around stiffly in her boxy uniform. She hadn't worn a skirt since she was 5, so this will definitely take some getting used to.

Before she could drown in her sorrows, a purple-haired girl made her way over to Lisa with a bubbly smile.

"Good day mate, the name's Kim Jisoo" she said with a ridiculous "Australian accent".

Lisa was a little taken aback, but she cleared her throat. "H-Hi... I'm Lisa" she pauses to remember the Korean language, "nice to meet you".

The light in Jisoo's eyes never fades, and her smile only widens. "Are you a foreigner?"

"You've got it in one."

Jisoo snickers at Lisa's comment. "I think you and I will get along just fine." She finishes with a small smile.

"Meet my cousin Jennie. Jennie, this is Lisa. She's new here." Jisoo said while chewing on a chicken leg.

Lisa's heart was pounding against her ribs. Jennie was by far the most beautiful girl that she'd ever seen. Her voluminous brown locks and pink lipgloss had Lisa weak in the knees.

She could barely force the words out of her mouth: "nice to meet you, Jennie..."

Jennie's gummy smile made Lisa's heart tremor. "The pleasure's all mine, Lisa."

The way her name rolled off of Jennie's tongue; it's like they've known each other for years.

————————————

She decided that Jennie was most likely straight, so it would be wise to start off as friends.

Lisa would help Jennie with her homework, walk her to class, drive her back home, the list goes on. She made sure that she became a vital part of Jennie's routine. She needed to feel significant to her dream girl.

And Jennie? Well, Jennie thought that Lisa was too good to be true; the best friend that she could ever ask for.

Anytime that Jennie needed anything, Lisa would always provide.

When Jennie needed a shoulder to cry on, Lisa was always there. When Jennie needed to go somewhere, Lisa's car would be waiting outside. When Jennie needed advice, or someone to rant to, Lisa would push away her own schedule to make time for Jennie.

That was the dynamic.

Jennie would take and take and take, and Lisa would give and give and give. The sad part is that Lisa... well, Lisa was more than willing. She'd pick the stars from the sky if Jennie wanted her to.

Jennie's life was difficult, and Lisa happened to make it that much easier.

To Jennie, Lisa was like a breath of fresh air. When life became too suffocating to handle, Lisa would be there with her cheesy jokes and silly smiles, and so Lisa became a necessity to Jennie. Jennie wouldn't trade her for the world...

...right?

————————————

A teary-eyed Jennie rushes towards Lisa, slamming her body against the Thai. The shorter girl melts into Lisa's embrace, taking in the comforting scent of her bestfriend.
