                                                             Lillie's POV

I jumped out of the car and waved to the suited driver, who nodded and drove off. Liana looked pretty in her new dress as she strutted curiously towards the Pokemon School. I walked towards the entrance and heard a sound of grunting, then peered curiously and had to choke back a scream of horror. Mallow was full-on kissing Ash, who had gone seemingly limp. His eyes were glazed over as he gazed, almost in wonder, at the tanned Alolan girl. She gave him a flirtatious smile and continued. Liana glimpsed over my shoulder and gagged. I felt sorry for her, watching helplessly as another girl sucked face with her boyfriend. After watching them for several minutes, I began to wonder why the other people weren't intervening. Sophocles and Kiawe were as still as Ash, and Lana was watching, biting her lip and glancing frequently over her back. When she noticed us, her eyes widened and she gave frantic hand gestures to her best friend. Mallow smiled sweetly at her, but her eyes shot daggers that conveyed a clear message. Stay out of this. Apparently, Liana couldn't take it anymore and stomped angrily into the room. The three boys shot back into focus and gazed with confusement at their surroundings. Ash snapped out of his trance and his auburn eyes widened with shock as he stared at the girl draped over him, kissing him hard. Ash pushed her away and gasped for breath as Mallow pouted. Suddenly, it came across to me that Ash might have suffocated if he had been pinned underneath her for any longer. It must have occurred to Liana, too, because her eyes were flaming with fury. "What did I say about staying away?" she thundered. If she was a Fire-type smoke would have been coming out of her ears. "Oh, you did," Mallow's smile grew wider. She winked at Ash, who looked at her suspiciously. "But I never had to listen, Kalos Queen," she jeered. Liana scoffed and turned away.

"All right, settle down, class," said Kukui as he walked in a second after. For the rest of school time, I pondered why every boy had frozen. Occasionally pitching in with a 'Firium Z,' or a 'yeah, right!', I noticed Liana with a faraway look in her eye. I wondered if she was thinking the same thing. "Class is over!" he announced grandly, walking out the door and slipping me a silver-white Normalium Z. We all stood up and headed to our destinations after school. Ash darted over to the beach, probably to train. Kiawe and Sophocles, as well as Lana and Mallow, headed home. I knew what I had to do. I waved to the rest of my friends and shook my head at the driver. "I'm off to the library. Pick me up in an hour," I told him. He looked puzzled but obeyed. "Of course, Miss Lillie," he responded, driving the car back out of the driveway. I took a deep breath in and ensured that Snowy was comfortably rested on my shoulder. Then I ran at full speed towards the bookstore.

                                                              Liana's POV

I was burning mad. Gritting my teeth, I fought the wind relentlessly as I dashed towards the Pokemon Center. Stopping and panting in front of a machine, I quickly dialed my mom's number and waited as the call processed. Soon, her picture appeared on the screen. I could make out shrieks of Pokemon and people fighting outside, but I dismissed it. She looked the same, raven hair that was the same as mine, but instead of green eyes, she had baby-blue ones. "Sweetie!" she exclaimed. "How have you been?" I exchanged my pleasantries with her speedily and rushed off to the real reason I had called her. After I explained it, her brows furrowed and she sighed. "You ought to know, all right, I'll tell you," I looked at her eagerly, awaiting a single answer, but instead she broke off into a story. "Once, when Arceus had just shaped the world, he was playful and mischievous and wanted to have some fun. So he made twelve men and a single woman and gave the woman, who's name was Kia, the Gift of Allure. That particular gift made men want her, crave her, covet her, and want to spend their every second around her. Eventually, one man finally got her love and they married. All women are descended from Kia and all men from Declan, for that was his name. But only a selected amount of Kia's children actually have her gift. Mallow does, I'm sure. That's why he couldn't resist her," I frowned in disagreement. "That can't be true. The first time I saw her, he was trying to break away from her," "He only tried to resist her when you came," she corrected me. "Why - " I gasped in surprise. "Yes darling, you have that gift as well. Yours is more powerful than hers, which is why Ash wanted you more than her." her face darkened. "But that gift is very dangerous. If a man is around a woman with the Gift of Allure too much, they go crazy. They will spend every second with the woman, even going to the extent of killing other men for her. The gift is much more likely to be given to a person who's mother has it, and less if their parent was a skipped generation." she explained. "So," I said slowly. "Yes, I have it as well," she confirmed. My cheeks turned a brilliant red. "But men don't pay attention to you!" I blurted, unable to stop my words from exploding from my mouth.

She gave a soft chuckle and glanced behind her. "That's not necessarily true. When I was young, all boys had crushes on me. But as I got older, they got more assertive, and they got more hungry. Some wanted me with such intensity that I had to fend them off from tearing my house up. If you have the Gift, then whatever you tell the men they will listen. But after what you told them wears off, they will stick to my oath. I instructed them to ignore me until both my daughter and husband have left me." My eyes widened in surprise. The Gift sounded dangerous beyond imagination, and I shuddered to think of what would happen if it fell into the wrong hands. "And now that that has happened, they've come racing back. The Gift is magical, and whatever I restrict them from's bounds will be released after it has come true. It has gotten so bad that I have to send Altaria outside to fight and have Delcatty get food," a yowl rang through the screen and a bag made of brown paper appeared on the table. "Well, she's back! See you, hon!" I waved back at her half-heartedly and signed off. I stared, dumbfounded, at the calling machine, then exhaled and went outside. "The Gift, huh?" said a voice behind me. I turned around and saw Nurse Joy looking at me. "Don't worry," she assured me as my eyes widened in horror. "I have it too. Nurse Joys and Officer Jennys all do, and some men are especially sensitive to our charms. I've heard quite a few amusing stories from my cousins who were confronted by men!" she laughed and waved me off. "Go ahead." I nodded slowly and confusedly and sprinted out swiftly.
