Chapter 52: the hunt

{Grey's POV}

Skyler ran out of the house in her wolf form I sighed and put my hand on Zacks shoulder and shook my head as he was about to go after her. He looked at me and sighed.

"But grey-" he started to say but I cut him off.

"Im going after her" I said "just make sure my kids are safe" I added and he nodded and ran upstairs. I jumped off the porch and shifted midair. 'If anyone saw the luna tell me' I said through a pack link and everyone started talking at once 'enough one at a time!' I growled and everyone stopped talking then someone said.

'I saw the luna run into the west forest alpha' a guard said and I took off to the west forest thanking the guard. I ran straight into the forest not stopping for anything as I was following her scent. It was everywhere I couldn't keep up, but I found one trail that was strong then the rest and followed it. I finally caught up with her and crouched in the bushes behind her when Axel interrupted my thought of how to get her.

'Just attack she won't stop you' Axel said and I sighed in my mind.

'yes she will Axel she will beat me if she tried and she will win now let me think' I said back and looked back at Skyler who was laying in the grass panting. I went closer trying to get a better look she with biting at her skin like there was something there. I crouched even lower as her ears perked up and looked my way. She laid back down and whined I slowly walked out of the bushes and she growled at me as I shifted into my demon form and crouched next to her. "I do not wish to harm you" I said quietly and she fell back down I saw were she was biting and slowly reached out. She started growling but I continued to reach out.

'Be careful Grey' Ray said and I laughed in my head.

'Oh so you do care?' I asked and Ray frowned.

'I only care for Ava and if she gets hurt. Do not hurt ava' Ray said and I nodded. I went in and took out whatever Skyler was biting at and her red eyes faded to her blue ones. 'A chip?' Ray asked and I shook my head.

'Wolfs bane it makes wolves go crazy with hunger. Not just any hunger though. Blood hunger for other wolves' I said as I throw the thing away from us. "Skyler" I said as her head laid on the grass trying to calm down.

'Then how did she know it was there??' Ray asked and I rubbed my face.

'Only a few wolves can tell that its there. Shes just one of those few' I said back and Skyler looked at me and licked my hand I chuckled and petted her. "Hey" I whispered.

'Hey' she responded. And I kept petting her.

"How did you know that thing was in you?" I asked and she did her best to shrugged.

'I mean I felt that there was something bothering me so I scratched then that came into view and I stopped' she responds and I smiled.

"Just be lucky that I came when I did" I said and she growled.

'you followed me don't say that you came just in time' she said and I laughed.

"No I didn't follow you at first... I waiting a few seconds then I did" I said smiling and she did her best to frown but failed and I laughed. She nipped my finger and I frowned. "Hey easy now I just saved your life" I said and she licked my face.

'hush you big baby' she said and I smiled.

"Let's get you home" I said and picked her up, she turned into human again and walked towards our pack land I walked straight in with her in my arms, I walked straight into the house and into the living room. Luke, Lizzy, Emma and Eli came running downstairs with Zack behind them and into the living room as I sat Skyler down on the couch and covered her up with a blanket.

"What happened?" Zack asked and I sighed.

"Wolves bane" I said and Zack's eyes widen along with the two older twins.

"Mom went crazy because of wolves bane?" Luke asked and I nodded.

"What's wolves bane?" Emma asked and Eli nodded and Lizzy frowned.

"Don't you two pay any attention in mom and dad's lessons?" Lizzy asked and the two younger twins shook their heads.

"In our defense we do pay attention to them most of the time" Eli said and Emma nodded, I rubbed my face.

"Emma, Eli wolves bane makes a wolf go crazy for blood. But not any blood, wolves blood" I explained and they slowly nodded.

"So mom basically went savage?" Eli asked and I nodded.

"You can put it that way" Zack said and everyone looked at Skyler who was asleep.

'I can't make contact with crystal she's fast asleep. In a deep sleep that she won't wake up to anything' Axel said.

'Nor I with Ava' Ray said  'Grey this is weird normally they would wake up with us being near them and now it's quite' Ray added, I sighed and everyone looked at me.

"Zack... Get doctor Balto here at once" I said "kids go play outside for a few" I said as Zack ran out the door and the kids followed him.

'Grey...' someone said in my head and I looked at Skyler and sat next to her. 'Grey! Run' they yelled then Skyler started to move. I frowned, Zack ran in with Balto behind him.

"What's-" Balto started to say but looked at Skyler. "The Luna" he said and crouched next to her putting his hands on her neck, and her hands. "She's ice cold" he said then Skyler sat up and grabbed Balto by his throat.

"The hunt... The hunt... It's coming to you and your Luna will be died." She said and fell back down letting Balto throat go. Balto rubbed his throat and Zack exhaled and looked at me.

"The hunt?" He asked and I shrugged "what pack is going on a hunt?" He asked and I frowned.

"Who do you think?" I asked and he looked at my dumbfounded "the bloodshed pack, but I don't know what she means by your Luna will be died" I said running my fingers through my hair I looked at Skyler, she looked peaceful but her face was pale like a cold one.

"Isn't the bloodshed pack allies with the cold ones?" Zack asked and I nodded. "Maybe no one will kill her. Because there's nothing that can kill her right?" He asked and I frowned.

"Oh I don't know maybe cold ones can kill her they are fast enough" I growled and Zack blinked. "Besides I can't use my demon powers because they won't work on cold ones and Skyler almost died the last time she used hers so there goes that" I said and looked at Skyler as her face went hard.
