Chapter Twenty

~~Two weeks later~~

Ava is at work. Kendra had just walked in Ava's office and sat down.

Kendra- "Have you told them yet?"

Ava- "No."

Kendra- "Geez Ava, it's been two weeks."

Ava- "I'm waiting for the right time. There hasn't been a good time."

Kendra- "Are you at least talking to them?"

Ava- "Here and there."

Kendra- "Ava, you have to get over it, Chick."

Ava- "I know I do. I put in for two personal days this week. I took Jason's days off work. I need time with them."

Kendra- "Can Jason get time off?"

Ava- "No. He just started. I'm sure Adam would let him, but I'd hate to ask him to take time off."

Kendra- "Did Annie approve your days?"

Ava- "Yes. Do you know how many I have built up? I take a week a year."

Kendra- "That's all you take?"

Ava- "Yeah. I take the kids to Gatlinburg every year. That's all I take it for."

Kendra- "My parents own a six-bedroom beach house in Florida. Take two weeks in October during Fall break. All of us can go. Your family, me, and Adam."

Ava- "Seriously?"

Kendra- "Yes."

Ava- "Ok. I'll talk to Jason; then I'll put it in with Annie. She will have a heart attack."

Kendra- "That poor old lady."

Ava- "How are things with Adam?"

Kendra- "It's insane. We have only been together for two weeks, but I know that I am going to marry that man."

Ava- "That's how I felt with Lance. The feeling is magical."

Kendra- "You truly love him, don't you?'

Ava- "I do."

Kendra- "How is it with Jason?"

Ava- "It started out as pure physical need. It's different. I had and have my magical fairy tale with Lance. With Jason, I have this unique raw bond that I can't explain."

Kendra- "Wow... Just seeing you talk about them; it would take an idiot not to see how deeply you love them both."

Ava- "Kendra, I am so glad you are my friend. It's been great having someone to talk to."

Kendra hugs her.

Kendra- "You are stuck with me, Chick. I am not going anywhere. I couldn't if I wanted to."

Ava- "Why?"

Kendra- "Umm, your boyfriend and husband's best friend is my boyfriend. He does spend more time at your house than mine."
