Chapter Fourteen

The next morning Addison wakes Ava up.

Addison- "Mommy, wake up."

Ava- "Mmm... Ok."

Ava sits up and grabs her phone to check the time. It was 6:32 am. Ava was surprised Addison is never up this early.

Ava- "Why are you up so early?"

Addison- "It's Jason's birthday. I wanted to make him a cake. Will you help me make him a cake?"

Ava- "How do you know it's his birthday?"

Addison- "I heard him tell someone on the phone."

Ava- "Oh well, I agree then. We should make him a cake. Why don't you go get dressed very quietly? After I get out of the shower, we will go get the stuff."

Addison- "Ok."

Ava- "Wait in the living room until I come out. Please do not wake your brother and sister up."

Addison- "I promise I won't, Mommy."

Ava- "Good, this is a Mommy and Addison secret for now."

Ava tiptoes upstairs to take a shower. She didn't want to wake Lance by using the one in their room. When she's done showering, she throws on a t-shirt and some cloth shorts. Then tiptoes down to the living room.

Ava- "Let do this, Addison!"

Ava discusses the plan for the cake as they drive to the store.

Ava- "Cake or cupcakes?"

Addison- "Cake."

Ava- "What flavor?"

Addison- "Umm, he eats the chocolate donuts when we get them."

Ava- "Chocolate it is then."

Addison- "With chocolate icing and sprinkles?"

Ava laughs. This was Addison's favorite cake. Addison thought she was slick by picking her favorites. She was just lucky it was Jason's too.

Ava- "We can do that, but we will keep the sprinkles on the side."

Addison- "We can do that."

Ava- "Do you think we should do breakfast?"

Addison- "Can I help make it?"

Ava- "Absolutely!"

They make their way to the store. They get everything they need for a cake and breakfast. They then stop at a party store. They grab some balloons and a card for Jason. When they get home, everyone is still asleep. Ava and Addison sign the card and sit it on the counter for everyone else. They were preparing to make breakfast when Ava's phone dinged.

Ava- "Good morning, my love. I will be right in."
