"Now can you continue?" Grace glared at Mathew, who'd interupted, before turning her attention to Lucas. "You were going to tell me about why my dad gave me pills to forget the past."

"The pills that you-"

"Wait so, have you been living with the LightMoon Pack since birth?" Mathew interrupted, confused with all the new reveal.

Lucas sucked in a breath, reconsidering talking about his identity. "I-no. I was born in a different Pack." He quickly added before Mathew could ask more. "And don't ask me which because I can't remember; it's been more than a few years." He joked, pleading to goddess that the boy would drop that subject.

"Oh yeah, sorry." Mathew paused a second before continuing. "But then, why did you hide your age from the whole pack? Why did the Beta and the Alpha family only know about you?"

Lucas made sure to calm his heart as he thought of a lie. "I don't want people to think that I'm an old man that can be equivalent to some high schooler's grandfather's grandfather's grandfather. Would you quit mentioning my age Mathew?"

"You don't look your age though..." it was Grace who commented this time.

"Well now I feel like a pedophile."

"Yeah, doesn't it feel bad when you date a lady from this generation. I mean, when you think of it, she would be your grand-grand-grand-grand daughters' age..." Mathew was looking at Lucas as he spoke. He was too concentrated on the information, that he forgot Lucas's request to 'shut up'.

"Wh-" before Lucas could even comment on that, Mathew asked another question.

"Oh, that makes me wonder: you must've had a mate and then a family." He faced Lucas for the first time since he revealed his age. Lucas didn't know what to say as he watched the normally scary looking guy bounce up and down, excited. "And that family would've had another family and that family would've... you know what I mean! You luck bastard! You got to spend so much time with your families!"

"No..." Lucas mumbled, suddenly feeling all the things he'd locked up come back at him like a tornado. "Stop! Don't talk about things you don't know about Mathew! I'd shut up until you want to die by a slap!"

Mathew's face fell and he returned back to his cold posture.

Grace watched the scene unfold while Lucas stared that the young boy for a few seconds before sighing in annoyance.

"Look, it's not that easy and it's defiantly not all unicorns and rainbows. I had a mate, sure. But it didn't go as to what I'd planed and I don't want to talk about it. All you need to know is that I didn't have a family to start another family and another."

There was a pause again and Grace felt like the ground would swallow her up. She couldn't imagine a life without her family, and to have to live two whole centuries without one, Grace would rather die.
