Rust burst through the door to the office and stared with jaws wide open before glaring at his brother. "What are you doing in here?!" He moved forward, walking around the table at the center. "He's here and he's coming fast. Delcon is already speeding through the palace searching for you. He has that 'I know everything' guy, the guy that looks like he'd fall dead anytime and the high school kid."
He was referring to Mathew, Tommy and Jude, Grace realized standing up. Lucas stopped her, asking where she going and she shrugged like she has always.
"You're going to stay here?" She asked back and Lucas shook his head. She turned back to the window to see that the sky was dark and cool. "Don't tell me we stayed the whole night retelling history?" She asked to no one in particular. She wasn't expecting anyone to answer as she rubbed her face a few times, tired and sleepy.
"I'm kind of sad that I missed story time," Rust sneakily said clapping his hands quietly.
"We need to lay low until Liam gets here." Lucas looked at Rust and nodded his head as if understanding what the younger was trying to say. "A few more minutes. How is the pack allies taking it?" He asked his brother.
Rust only smirked in return, "with everything Liam thinks, I would say pretty well."
Grace only frowned, weren't these two fighting and biting each other in wolf forms yesterday? How are they able to talk to each other as if none of that happened?
Lucas was hiding something from her still.
"He thinks he has everything in control but he only has Delcon at his side. The Hosts had always hated him and the witches and warlocks would switch sides if they get to without dying."
"What about you?"
Rust raised a brow at Lucas. "He killed our parents for goodness sakes, if he really thinks I'd forget, then he's got another thing coming at him."
"The Hosts, who are they? They seem like pretty important people." Grace asked the two brothers. Lucas sighed before flicking a hand at Rust.
"Please do the favors, my throat hurts with all the talking."
"The Hosts are the elders of the wolf race. There are five of them in total, used to be six but one of them was banished. Their job is kind of like a messenger, they stand in-between the wolves and the Goddess. They are your typical immortal protectors, they don't age and they stay twenty."
"One of them was banished?" Grace asked, ignoring the part when Rust had said that they don't age. She had come to a conclusion that supernaturals take time to die.
