𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐋𝐄 𝐁𝐎𝐘 𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊𝐄𝐃 𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐋 𝐀𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐀 𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐃 𝐃𝐀𝐘, he didn't know what was worse, his classmates or his father.
was going home really all that worth it?
the angel by his side frowned, she didn't want her dear boy to suffer. she summoned a quarter in her hand and dropped it to the ground. the boy stopped at the sound of the coin and grabbed it from the ground.
"who coulda dropped this here?"
the boy questioned no one in particular before stuffing it into his pocket, he'll make sure to buy something real nice with that pretty quarter. his tired expression morphed into a small smile, making his guardian angel smile along with him.
she knew she couldn't do anything about what was happening to her dear boy, god told her so. she could only watch as it all went by, and oh how it hurt her.
the rest of the walk home was silent, alastor felt peace envelope him. this warmth he felt was different and he knew it, whenever he'd stray his eyes from the path and looked beside him he'd see a flash of gold.
he wasn't alone.
his smile brightened and he finally got home, gulping, he opened the door and to his relief, neither of his parents were home. he scurried to his room and put his leather school bag on the floor with a sigh.
"i wonder who's been following me."
he mused, purposefully wanting to grab the angel's attention. she gulped nervously, it wasn't the first time her dear al had caught a glimpse of her and beckoned her to reveal herself. but now he was a young man, fourteen going on fifteen. perhaps she could reveal herself to him, it's not like he had any rules against that.
with a blink of an eye, she appeared in from of him. she looked at him with a beam, the small angel just couldn't contain her happiness.
"uh- wow- i did not expect that!"
the angel chuckled softly, spreading her wings out in joy.
"hi al, it's nice to be finally able to talk to you."
the petite guardian angel smiled softly. alastor was at a loss for words, never had he seen such ethereal beauty in his entire life. she was practically perfect in every single way.
"a-al?"
he stuttered, no one had ever called him that. and now, he would only allow her to call him that.
"oh! pardon me, i haven't even introduced myself. how rude!"
the boy chuckled softly, amused by the bewitching girl's mannerisms.
"my name is (y/n), i'm your guardian angel."
now this took him by surprise. guardian angel? those were actually real? not to mention, if she was real that meant god was real too. heaven and hell were real too.
oh boy.
"y-you're my what?"
alastor looked completely baffled and (y/n) was starting to regret the choice she made of showing herself to him, but nevertheless, she stood her ground and was determined to finish what she had decided to do.
"guardian angel, i've been here by your side since you were born."
the brittle boy nodded slowly, confused by the newfound information. he felt betrayed because she let him go through all of this torture for thirteen years. so, he replied bitterly—
"then why do i have to suffer if you're here?"
(y/n) winced, she knew her boy would ask her something like that, it just hurt much more than she had expected it to, her darling's smile faltered into a frown. she leaned over to him, caressing his cheek. he felt as though happiness and warmth itself had touched him, he leaned into the angel's touch, a liquid sensation encompassing his body, giving him complete peace.
"my dear boy, i suffer alongside you for i cannot do anything, god prohibits me from interfering."
she caressed her sweet, darling boy as he leaned into her touch. a calm, happy smile grazed his handsome features. her embrace spoke
"i- i understand, i know you wouldn't let me suffer like that."
she smiled, tears threatening to drop from her golden eyes.
"i will always be here, my darling al. i'll never leave you."
