Y/N POV

Ever since I was thirteen years old, I've liked a boy named Fangs Fogarty. Why you might ask? For starters, he's caring. He cares about his friends, not me, we're not friends. I don't have many friends, so for years, I've struggled by liking him and barely speaking three words to each other. Another factor is that he's broken, ok maybe I'm a sucker for a guy with a crappy childhood but I see the way he's trying to hide it and not let himself be like that, lowkey attractive. The only thing we share in common is a friend, my one and only best friend Toni, also his good friend.

Another day of endless, dreadful school, and Toni and I were sitting outside at a table during lunch. "I'm so sick of this Y/N," She told me as she ate a potato chip. "What?" I asked, snapping out of my daze. She raised her eyebrows, "Are you kidding? You and Fangs. I'm so sick about watching you like him from a distance without him knowing. How long has it been now?" She asked. "3 years 2 months and 5 days," I responded looking down. "Ok see! So I'm going to flip a coin-" "No!" I cut her off, "When the time is right Toni, it'll happen."

She rolled her eyes as Cheryl walked over, "Hey baby," She kissed Toni, "Y/N." I nodded, she and I don't really talk. "So what are you lovely folks talking about?" She asked sitting across the table. "Y/N/N won't tell a boy that she likes him," Toni nodded to me, "Fear of rejection," I commented. "Well, the perfect way to get him to notice you is by throwing a party!" Cheryl exclaimed. "I'm not throwing a party to tell some guy I don't talk to that I like him," I argued. "Not to worry, I'll throw it. Who's the lucky guy?" She asked excitedly. "Fangs Fogarty," Toni flat out stated. "Wow Toni thanks a lot," I threw my hands up. "Oooo, is that the short or the tall one?" She asked. "Short one," I mumbled. "Great! Well, it's settled!" Cheryl stood up, "Party at my place tonight!" She walked away, leaving me to sigh that the biggest gossip knew something big about me.

FANGS POV

You know what I hate? Love. Always have. Ever since my parents split up and turned my house into a shit hole, I've given up on it. Until three years ago when I learned who Y/N Y/L/N was. During her initiation, I thought she was the prettiest, strongest serpent I've ever met. However, we've barely said anything to each other. I'm too nervous, she's so kindhearted and nice I don't want to inflict myself and my problems in her life, fear of changing her.

"Yo Fangs, Cheryl's throwing a party tonight and we're going!" Sweetpea calls slinging his arm over my shoulder. "No why the hell would I go to a party on the Northside?" I asked. "Hey, free booze," He answered, "And Y/N/N's gonna be there." I sighed, "Whatever, I'll go for the alcohol." "Yeah uh," Sweetpea teased. Oh, man.

Y/N POV

Toni dragged me over to Cheryl's house for the party, arriving a few hours early to get ready. "So how are you planning on telling him you like him?" Cheryl asked as she applied much-hated makeup to my face, "Go light," I tell her, "And I don't know, tell him?" There's no point in fighting her about it, it's also been way too long. "Ooh you should make him jealous," Toni piped up from her bed. "Why the hell would I do that?" I asked as Cheryl exclaimed, "Yes! Seven minutes in heaven with someone he's close to." "Not me," Toni commented. "Of course not baby," Cheryl replied. "Gee thanks Toni," I added sarcastically. "You know that's not what I meant," Toni told me.

"What's that tall guy's name?" Cheryl thought. I sighed, I hate this, "Sweetpea," I gave in. "Yes! Sweetpea. Seven minutes in heaven with one of his best friends is sure to do the trick," She decided. "I'm not doing Seven minutes in heaven with Sweetpea," I argue as she tells me to blink for mascara. "We could always play Secrets and Sins," She suggested. "Whatever, as long as I don't have to do anything with him," I say. "No you can sit in a closet of seven minutes and it'll let his mind wander," Cheryl tells me.

...................................................

Five hours later the party was in full swing and Cheryl gathered everyone for Seven minutes in heaven. Archie and Veronica went. Then Betty and Jughead. Finally, 'coincidentally' Sweetpea and I were called to go. I immediately saw Fang's jaw clenched. Maybe Cheryl's plan would work, ef. I sighed as I shut the door, "So," Sweetpea started. "No," I told him. "Right," He responded, "Why are we here?" "Cheryl thinks that if we do Seven minutes in heaven together it'll make Fangs jealous because I kinda like him," I rambled.

He opened his mouth, "Oh my goodness, wait really?" I just looked at him, "Yea why." "Y/N/N he's liked you for so long," He told me laughing. "You're shitting me," I told him. "No no no deadass," He replied. I crossed my arms as he went on, "Look it isn't my place to tell you why and shit, I shouldn't've even told you he likes you but do what you want with that information. I smile and bang my back against the door. "What the fuck are you doing?" He laughs as I start to laugh, "Making him jealous."

We came out to see Cheryl with a smile on her face, "I think it's time for more alcohol, we'll come back later for another game." She gets up and leaves with Toni as other people disperse for more drinks. I sigh, I didn't see Fangs there anymore so I went outside to the cool air. How the hell is it so stuffy in that big ass house? I found her pool after walking a little bit. Someone was sitting on a pool chair, staring at the water. Fangs. I sat on the one next to him and looked at the lit-up water.

"Why'd you go in there with him?" He asked after a few minutes. I blinked, "Why not?" He looked down, "Do you like him?" "No, but why do you care?" I asked, playing dumb. "I don't know," He answered looking back at the water. "I know you like me," I say looking at him. His head snapped up and looked at me, "H-how?" I shrugged, "I have ways, but is it true?" He sighed, "Kind of." I looked back at the water and smiled, "Well I kind of like you too."

"Shit I don't want to like you though," He stood up and started to pace, "I- ugh you're too good for me." I stood up, "What's that mean?" "You're so nice and innocent-" He started. "That's debatable," I cut in. "You're nice and fuck, so kindhearted and too good for me," He rambled. I stopped him and placed my hands on his face, "No, listen to me. You might've had a different childhood than I did but that doesn't mean anything. You're so caring and a great person. Your past doesn't define you."

He exhaled and looked down. I tilted his chin back up and looked into his eyes, "Ok?" "Ok," He whispered. I kissed his cheek, "Now, let's go get drunk and figure out what to do tomorrow." He smiled, "Ok," He smiled, taking my hand as we walked back towards Cheryl's house. What a wasted night it was.
