There was no Voldemort, the Potter survived and had another kid after Harry. They named him Brian, he was almost two years younger than Harry and a year behind him in school. During his first year at Hogwarts, Harry had found a lot of things, he made notes to show them to his brother.

One of the most intriguing things he found was the mirror of Erised. Harry saw a happy life with his family in it and he was very curious to see what his brother might see in it. His second year came around and on the 1st night back to Hogwarts, soon after the lights were out, both the Potters got out to find the mirror.

"Look at it! How bloody amazing is that?", Harry said as both of them got out of the invisibility cloak. "Just stand right here and tell me what you see."

He placed Brian right in front of the mirror and stood behind him. He was looking at Brain, expecting him to be happy or excited but instead, he broke down in tears. Harry was shocked, he had read about the mirror and it's not supposed to make people sad.

"Are you okay? Hey, I got you, Bree.", Harry said as he hugged his brother who was now on the floor sobbing. "Mate, what did you see?"

Brain shook his head. Harry hugged him tighter and said, "You can tell me anything."

Brian looked up at him, his big green eyes filled with tears, "I am sad because what I saw will never come true."

"Yes, it will! Tell me and we can find a way to make it.", Harry said encouragingly.

Brian shook his head, "You will probably hate me or think I've gone mental."

"You are mental, that's not gonna change.", Harry said. "Just tell me, Bree!"

"I-I saw me as a...", Brian sobbed.

"Go on?"

Brain looked at his brother's eyes, which were identical to his and his mother's. Brian always looked a lot like Lily, he even had her straight red hair, unlike his brother and dad. He was like a male version of his mom.

"I saw myself as a girl."

"What do you mean? Like with a girl?"

Brian shook his head.

Harry was confused, and he was somewhat sure that it was Brain trying to be funny. He chuckled and asked again, "What do you mean?"

At this Brain started crying again. Harry's eyes went wide and he immediately hugged his brother. "Sorry."

"Do you really mean it?", Harry asked and Brian nodded. "Was that version of you happier than you now?" Brain nodded again.

Harry shrugged and said, "Well then I don't care if you want to be a boy or a girl. I don't mind if you are my brother or my sister, as long as I have you and you are happy. If being a girl makes you happy, we can find ways to do that. I am sure I have seen potions in the—"

"I am not your new lab rat.", Brain said firmly. They both looked at each other and broke into laughter. This was the first time Brain was completely honest with his brother and his best friend, and he has never been happier.

Brain hugged Harry and said "I love you", a few times. "You have no idea how hard it was... lying to you of all people."

"Not anymore.", Harry said.

"Never any more.", Brain replied.

They both soon were ready to leave, when Brain asked, "What if mom and dad don't want me to be a...you know... Brianna and not Brain"

"Oh, Brianna is a pretty name! Well, we can be creative and do something very elaborate or we can just take their money and abandon them in their old age.", Harry said casually as he pulled out the invisibility cloak.

"How are you not a Slytherin?", Brianna asked as she walked towards her brother.
