Today's Sunday. It's time to talk to man in moon. I've already thought a lot about how I'm going to tell him about Elsa. Hopefully this will go fine, I think as I climb up the tree.
"Man in moon, are you there?"
"Yes Jack, good evening, how are you?"
"Good evening. I'm very good actually. I'm really happy."
"That's good to hear, did something pleasant happen?""It's.. Remember the girl I told about last week?"
"Yes. You said that you think she could be the one. For our mission. And you seemed to really like her."
"I still do. And yes that girl. Her name's Elsa. We met up yesterday after school, I've gotten to know her better like you told me. And I.. She's what me really happy. She's special."
"I see. Are you special to her as well?"
"Yes. She told me that yesterday. I also didn't have to read her mind again until now.""You really care about her. Jack, do you think you could love her?"
"Love? What I read about loving someone in books.. it really fits to the way I think about her. I just want her to be happy. And like I already told you she makes me happy."
"I suppose if you know you love her you should tell her. But about the mission, are you certain she's the person were looking for?"
"I really am. I want to find out if it really is her.""Since you've gotten to know her now I'll tell you the 2 steps you'll have to do to find out if it's really her.
First you need to test if she trusts you. To do that you'll have to tell her you can read her mind. If she doesn't trust you she'll ask you to prove it. And Jack, for this step it's necessary that you read her mind right after you tell her. To test that she really doesn't doubt what you said. She has to believe in what you say, without thinking that it's a joke. It's your job to make sure you tell her about it when you think she's ready.""That'll be.. hard. But I really believe she trusts me. If she would fail the step.. At least I'll know she doesn't really trust me.. but she won't fail. What's the second step?"
"It's to tell her about me. She needs to really believe in what you say to unlock her faith in me. And if she is the person were looking for, she'll be able to hear what I tell her. We'll be able to talk just the way you and I are talking right now."
"I understand.. But what will happen then? After she believes in you?""She'll have to come to me. But that doesn't have to be right after she believes in me. She actually has a year until she has to come here. To fulfill her purpose."
"What is her task? Her purpose? And will I be able to stay with her if she wants to stay here for the year?"
"I can't tell you Jack. Not exactly. Because I don't know it yet either. Each human chosen from earth has something special. Something that is needed. When her time comes to fulfill her purpose we'll know it. And to you staying here.. it's possible but not sure.""What do you mean?"
"If you deeply care for her.. More than you care about yourself. If you truly want to stay with her but lose some time as a powerful guardian for her then it's possible. Only two guardians sent by me have done this before and.. They really loved the humans that were chosen. More than anything.""I think then I'll be able to stay with her." I tell man in moon as I smile.
"If you think so, follow your heart Jack, you know what to do. Do the steps when you think she's ready."
"I will, man in moon. Goodnight and thank you for telling me everything. I still don't really know how I came here but I know you care for me and I want to thank you for that.""Good night Jack. I hope you're successful with Elsa."
That's it. I've told him. I know what I have to do. I go to bed. Please let it be her. Let it be Elsa. Oh, I didn't tell man in moon about the connection I feel when touching her hand. Well it probably is just a sign that she really is the one for the mission, right?
