Anywhere but home

Take me away
Anywhere but home
Take me to the playground where all life form vanishes between the hours of 8 to 5 under the sun.
Where the swings don’t swing as much as my mood a hundred winters ago when my young and broken soul couldn’t tell friend from foe.

Take me under the cold stairs of Hell where the linoleum has received the wet kiss of my unjustifiable tears and where I died a billion times with the help of my golden fingers.

I don’t care
Anywhere, I said.
Anywhere but home

But my favorite place of them all, I haven’t told a soul, is in your arms, your hand in mine.
Sapphire in yours eyes, sapphire on my neck.

It’s a shame that when the sun rises, when the prince and the sinner start fighting,
I am snatched away from you.
And all throughout the day, I reminisce of the sweet burn I got from your smile, when night comes, I only wish to see it again.
I’ll see tonight.
I’d go anywhere,
I swear.
