They say that the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. However, my dream is not beautiful, but rather it is monstrous. It's a terrifying soul, running their thin, icy fingers along your spine. This monster captures any hope of escaping and turns it into a lifetime full of guilt and loyalty. You constantly relive the worst things you've ever done.
Now, you may ask, what have I, out of all the people on this planet, done to be appointed a slave forever and eternity. I'm the reason why adults lock their doors at night. I'm the reason why parents warn their children to be home before dark. I am the reason why the fear you hold exists in the very first place. I am the definition of Hell. I am a figment in your imagination, but I am also the most terrifying figure on Earth. Believe it or not, I am..you.

Who am I to deny a person of their greatest potential, despite their past? What gives me the power to turn away another during the darkest of times? I believe that every one of us holds a sacred power that is unique to humanity. Think about this. If we defined everyone based on the mistakes we've made, then mankind as we know it will only be a barren, dark wasteland filled with lost hope.
Forgiveness. Forgiveness will allow for peace among one another. Forgiveness will help the flowers grow and flourish on a rainy day. Forgiveness is seeing the rainbow after a thunderstorm, and it is the one thing we have to look forward to. Darkness cannot defy itself, for only light can help others seek out the end of the tunnel.

You have sinned, and now you shall pay for it...at a costly price, may I add. Young child, let me teach you something about life. Life does not take into account how many good deeds one has done to outweigh the bad. He's peculiar in that fashion, but I suppose that is what makes him unique. You are destined to an eternity of suffering and slaving over the inevitable guilt that you caused upon yourself.
A mother will not get to look into her child's eyes one more time. Is this what you wanted? Whether you wanted it to or not, you cannot change the past. This will define you for the rest of your existence. You cannot erase this, I can guarantee that. This dark memory will haunt you like an angry phantom, always reminding you of this permanent fortune.

Humankind as we know it was not made to be perfect. Ultimate perfection is an impossible feat that only the greedy and weak strive towards. Mistakes were meant to happen on Earth. Because of this, it is the actions we take afterwards that define who we really are.
You should know that forgiveness is an action that requires one to be most vulnerable. Life exists beyond the reef of darkness you fear most. It is full of light and shelter. All you have to do is swim through the dread of the past, and I promise that the world will be clear again. We shall accept you. Not for your faults, but for your strengths. Not for your sins, but for your virtue.
