Harry was leaving today and I was preparing myself for the hurt that would overcome me as I watched him go. But he was mine, and even if he’s flying away he’ll still be in my heart. I knew that getting back with him would mean this but he was worth it.

We had agreed last night on what we were going to do while he was away: text periodically throughout the day, just updating each other on when we can and can’t talk so we know that we aren’t just ignoring each other. I told him that he could call me at any time of day or night and I would answer and vice-versa for me. The rest we were going to work out, together, as time goes on.

The flight that was originally scheduled earlier in the morning for the boys was pushed back until after we got out of school. Liebe, Victoria, and I were going to see them off at the airport. I thought about Harry all day and we constantly messaged each other, not necessarily lovey things but just more organizing plans and talking about our day, occasionally being mushy. But hey, that’s what couples do, and that I could never be happier about.

Surprising us as we got out of school was a limousine and a driver with mine and Victoria’s names on a piece of paper. Everyone in our school had given us weird looks, but we were just as confused at they were, although I had some idea. I was suddenly glad that I had thought to dress up a little bit to say goodbye.

When the driver noted our presence, seeming to already know who we were, he held the door open for us and greeted us. We smiled and slid into the backseat, finding an already over excited Liebe in the back. “Is this for what I think it is?” I asked her as she took a sip of one of the complementary sodas in the back. “Yes it is! I thought we were just going to get a train there but this is, wow!” She was smiling foolishly as she drank her soda. “I hate to be Buzz Killington here but this is taking us to say goodbye to our boys.” Victoria spoke up to us. Mine and Liebes heads drooping suddenly more upset, but then I perked my head up. “You know, we may be saying goodbye but it’s not for forever.” I said seriously, and glad that it wasn’t. Victoria and Liebe smiled and nodded in agreement. “No we will be seeing them again very soon.”

The limousine ride, something I will probably never get over saying, was filled with cheering each other up and talking about all of the good things with the boys. I was excited to hear each tale we had to tell. Although it had been such a short time we each had a surprisingly high amount of stories, the most popular being, of course, Harry and I getting back together. I was finally with him, permanently, and no matter what came between us it would only be small obstacles for us.

We laughed and distracted each other from the sadness that was becoming inevitable. But we became more and more prepared with each passing second. It would still hurt, but we would be better at containing it for the sake of our boys. My stomach was flipping over and over inside me and I’m sure the other girls were feeling the same. We all stopped talking for a few moments before Liebe whispered to us. “I’m going to miss them, so much.” She continued to stare at the floor of the car. “Me too” Victoria said. I started crying again, surprised that I wasn’t all dried up. Victoria and Liebe then began crying too. “Shit.” I said, wiping my cheeks and under my eyes. “I knew this was going to happen.” Liebe let out a strangled laugh. “Well now we’ve fucked up our make-up too, so much for trying to keep it together and look good.”  Victoria and I both laughed. “Right we’re great actors.” Victoria said from next to Liebe.

We fixed up our make-up and tried to make it look like we weren’t just crying when the doors of the car opened and we were told that we had arrived at the airport. “Thank you so much for taking us.” I said as we all stepped out. The driver smiled genuinely at us. “No problem girls, it was a pleasure driving you.” I smiled back at the driver and we walked towards the doors of the airport. “Oh girls?” The driver said, catching up to us. “Yes?” Victoria said suspiciously. The driver took his hand out from behind his back and handed us each a single rose. Liebe got a red one, Victoria got a violet one, and I got an orange one. I smiled at the flower in front of me and took it. “Requested from your boys” was all he said as we walked away. “Oh my god” we all said simultaneously.
