Victoria and I boarded the 6:13 train back home with smiles on our faces. As we took our seats I only had one thing on my mind. “Tor, what did they do to my phone?” She was looking at her phone, texting. “I don’t know.” I glared at her. “You’re lying, I saw you watching them.” She was completely enveloped in her phone like I had never seen. I looked over and noticed she was texting Niall. Now it made sense. “Oh you got Niall’s number?” She nodded. “I got all of their numbers.” I felt a little jealous that they decided to get hers and not mine. “Oh, that’s very cool.” She could tell that I was a little upset. “So did you.” “No I didn’t.” I said, confused. She looked up at me and my phone began vibrating uncontrollably. It was probably twitter. I slid up my phone to unlock it and I had five texts, all from numbers I didn’t know. I opened them up one at a time. The first one was from Zayn. ‘Hey babe it’s Zayn xx’ that made me smile.Victoriaprobably gave them my number while I was in the bathroom or something. I responded with a quick ‘hey (:’ and saved his number. The second message was from Niall. ‘Emma!-N’ was all it said. ‘Niall!’ I sent back, then saving his number too. My third and fourth messages were from Liam saying ‘save this number!-Liam’ and Louis’ which actually made me laugh aloud. It said ‘Harry’s mine-Louis’. I texted Liam back saying, ‘yes boss!’ and Louis saying ‘fight me’, then saved their numbers. I eagerly looked at the fifth text message, which obviously, was from Harry. ‘Hey, I had a great time today (:-Harry’. I saved his number and texted him back too, hoping that I didn’t wait too long. ‘Me too (:’ I typed. Simple, but still cute, and hopefully not to friendly, I didn’t want to friend zone him by accident. He texted me back within seconds. ‘That’s good, how’s your arm?” I had completely forgotten about it, but it didn’t hurt. ‘Good, it doesn’t hurt anymore (:’ I hit send and almost immediately I got a response. ‘Great (: anyway, I just wanted to make sure you were okay…I’m going to go warm up my amazing voice, text you later babe (;’. I didn’t answer him; I just looked at my phone, grinning like an idiot. I’m assumingVictoriastopped texting Niall because she was staring out the window, just watching the train fly through the city.

“So today was interesting enough.” I said, turning her attention away from outside. “Oh you think?” I laughed at her response. “No, it was boring. We should have just stayed home and watched YouTube videos all day.” “That would have been a better use of our time.” I smiled, her sarcasm is always assuring. “Although, really, what are the odds? Running into Zayn and Niall like that, it was just weird.” “Yea…” she said, absent-mindedly. That’sVictoria’s way of saying ‘this conversation bores me.’ I turned away and put my headphones in my ear, droning out the rest of the world on the way home.

AfterVictoriagot picked up from my house I flopped down on my bed, thinking about the one thing that just wouldn’t leave my mind, Harry Styles. I unlocked my phone and read the conversation over and over for what must have been ages, smiling when I saw he called me babe. I couldn’t bring myself to erase the conversation. I stared at my phone for a few seconds and went into my contacts, finding my friend Liebe’s name, and then hit call. Liebe didn’t like One Direction, or knew anything about them actually, but she knew I loved them so initially I had to call her about what happened. It rang a few times before I heard Liebes voice on the other line. “Hey love what’s up?” “Nothing much love, but you will never believe what happened to me today.” I could hardly keep from screaming into the phone. “What?” She sounded excited, like she always does when I have exciting news for her. “I went into the city today withVictoria.” “What’d you do there?” Liebe loved going into the city, so obviously she was going to be interested. “We just sort of walked around, ran into a couple of insanely cute guys.” “Oh really now?” she said, I could hear her smiling through the phone. “And what were their names?” “Zayn and Niall, they’re here for a few concerts happening over the weekend.” “Very cool, did you get their numbers?” “I did, and they introduced us to the rest of their friends, back at the hotel that they’re staying at.” “Wait, you went to their hotel?” “Yes.” “Emma that could have been dangerous, how old were they?” “Just a few years older, only one of them was in their 20’s.” Silence was on the other line of the phone. I had a feeling she might have realized something else, and I could hardly keep the smile off my face. “Wait…what were the boys’ names?” “Zayn and Niall were the ones that I ran into.” Silence continued on the other side of the phone. “Why? Is there a problem with those names?” She could hear the laughter edging in my voice that something was going on with those two boys. “Those names, I’m pretty sure I’ve heard you talk about them before.” “From where would I have spoken about them, Liebe? Those names are hardly American.” The tone in my voice was pushing obvious, practically screaming that I have spoken about them before. I couldn’t help that giddy feeling rising in my chest as she put the pieces together. “What concerts are they going to this weekend Emma?” She said her question slowly, almost carefully. I almost burst out laughing right there, a wide smile spread across my face. “Did I say going to?  I meant the concert they’re playing.” “Emma, are you talking about Zayn Malik and Niall Horan? You mean from One Direction?” “You picked that up faster then I thought!” I started laughing hysterically into the phone, almost to the point of tears. “Oh you’re such a little bitch! You really had me thinking that you ran into two guys Zayn and Niall and that you actually went back to their hotel.” “I did.” “Very funny Emma, alright I’ll go along with this.” “Well I cut up my elbow and when I went back to the hotel Harry Styles actually fixed it up for me! Then we hung out with them until they had to go to the show and now I’m home! Of course I got all of their numbers too.” “Emma you are crazy.” “I’m not making it up!” She sighed through the other side of the phone. “I’m coming over.” I shrugged my shoulders, used to it. “Alright, just push the door open when you get here.” She hung up the phone and I flopped back down onto my bed, waiting for her to come over.
