^^Emma's meeting outfit^^

"Don't go anywhere because after the break, America's Sweetheart, Emma Lou Mayfield, will make an appearance!"

"EL, come put on your mic," my agent calls me over.

I take my third and final shot of whiskey before I walk over to my manager, agent, and security crew. When I stop walking, a stagehand clips a mic onto the back of my skirt and on the collar of my shirt.

"Emma Lou, you have one more minute. You've done these talk shows millions of times and you're great at it! Take a quick breather and remember why you do this," my manager, Abigail, tells me

"For my fans. I love my fans," I say, then I remember the reason I was nervous, "but Abs, the other times I've done this, I wasn't announcing anything huge. I could lose fans because of this!"

"You're not going to lose fans. You're America's Sweetheart, Emma. Everyone loves you. Calm. Down," she tells me

  "Okay. Okay, I'm good."

"Good. The break just ended. Break a leg," she tells me and hugs me quickly before scurrying away to the side of the stage.

"Now, for the person most of you have been waiting for," Robin, the host, says, "Emma Lou Mayfield!"

I plaster in a smile and walk out onto the stage.

"Hi! Welcome, Emma Lou," Robin greets me

"Hey, Robin. Thank you for invitin' me!" I beam

"Well, you're welcome. Alright, you ready to start?"

"Yes, ma'am. Ask all the questions!" I joke and laugh a little

"I will," she chuckles, "Okay. So, the people want to know, are you seeing anyone?"

"Sorry to disappoint y'all, but I'm not seein' nobody," I say and look towards the crowd

"Oh, that leads to the next question. What happened between you and your ex, Haze Collins?"

The mere mention of him makes my skin crawl and my blood boil. Haze and I were polar opposites and we were always arguing, then he cheated on me in public. I got broken up with through paparazzi, basically.

"Haze and I had a lot of differences and we weren't a good match. I hope he's happy with his life now," I spout out the rehearsed answer.

"That's very noble of you. Most of your fans are concerned about the fact that you and Kyra Freeman are co-stars on the series 'SOUTHSIDE'. How are you going to work with her like nothing happened?"

"Well it's acting. As long as the show is just as good, I will be happy. I hope it's the same case with my fans," I say and smile at the large crowd, who cheers loudly.

"Of course," she pauses to look at her card with questions on it, "So, everyone is dying to know why you are taking a hiatus from acting," she says and smiles brightly at me

"Well, Robin. I've always had a love for singin' and writin' songs. I grew up on stage doin' both actin' and singin'. I was offered a record deal over in Nashville and I have to go over there to start releasin' albums and things," I explain

"That's great! How are you feeling about this? Are you nervous?"

"I'm really excited and happy, actually. As y'all know, I've sang with a few artists on singles and stuff, but I've never released my own single. Much less an album! Anyway, I am really excited to be singin' and goin' on tours and meeting fans."
