"Dude ... I don't even understand the killer's intention. What were they thinking? This is so stupid," Okada groaned.

Tanizaki watched the girl surf through the documents that she had asked for, even though he didn't understand why she wanted them. This was pretty complicated for a first case, so he was wondering whether to seek help from the others or to just try and solve it by themselves. However, it seemed like Okada had some kind of lead, so he would follow his advice.

Okada still felt like some piece of the puzzle was missing. She still didn't understand it. But she did know what they were going to do that moment.

"Get packing. We're going to the place where they freeze fish or something," Okada informed Tanizaki, throwing her coat over her shoulder and walking to the exit.

"Jesus, we're partners. Can't you just tell me what's going on in your head?" Tanizaki asked meekly.

Okada turned around, her coat billowing behind her. The sunlight shone through the windows down onto her face.

"I could tell you everything. I could tell you all my secrets. I could tell you things that could get me killed. But that wouldn't be fun, " Okada said, before heading to the door.

Tanizaki sighed at her overdramatic act. However, he was curious about her lead. A freezing place? He had no idea what she was talking about, but no matter, he trusted her with this.

"Alright. Anyways, we're going to the freezer place because of the puddle of water. It was weird, huh? Well, the body was probably frozen before to preserve it, which is why the woman was missing for so long before turning up. As for the motive, I have no clue, " Okada shrugged while walking to the place, deciding it was time to fill Tanizaki in.

"Oh, that makes sense. Why did you want me to pull up the file?" Tanizaki asked the girl.

"Well I wanted to check if any of the suspects were husbands of any of the women. It would make sense, because of the wedding band, " Okada explained.

"But why dead women?" Tanizaki asked, curiosity evident in his voice.

"Because the guy is probably doing something with those body parts. Think, why would a married man be killing innocent women for their organs? I don't understand why yet, but it wouldn't make sense for him to kill girls when he had one of his own. And since the wedding ring had been polished yet has small scratches, it means that he cherishes his long marriage, " Okada simply commented, not turning back to look at the boy.

Tanizaki was shocked. How did she deduce that much from just looking at the body and the ring? He severely underestimated her deductive skills. If he didn't do anything, he was going to be left behind in the dust as she went chasing after murderers.

After a lot of walking, the two detectives finally reached their destination: a freezer the size of a building. The weather was already cold, which made them both regret not bringing more clothes. Okada immediately pushed open the door, walking in. Tanizaki sighed, following her closely behind.

At this moment, Okada's eyes widened in shock as the blast of cool air hit her face. Stopping in her place, her mouth hung agape at the sight before her. As Tanizaki came in behind, he used his hands to cover his mouth.

"What the hell..." Okada trailed off.

In front of them, were a bunch of body of women who had frozen to death in the cold room. Their skin pale, all lined against the wall in a line. It was terrible. All of them were dead. But that was not what they were freaked out by.

In front of them, was a woman upon the wall. Could it even be called human? Such a gruesome sight... It made Tanizaki want to throw up. However, Okada seemed unaffected by this sight. In front of them, was a bunch of the body parts of the females, stitched up together. Everything from her hands to her hair, to her eyes... All of them were from different people, pieced together to make the Franken-woman. The hands looked like they were about to fall off. The face was still slightly bloody. Beside it, there were a bunch of tools that were used to put the person together. However, Tanizaki couldn't imagine who would do such a thing.

At this moment, the two heard footsteps echo down from the stairs. Acting on instinct, Tanizaki immediately activated his ability to mask the two from any potential danger up ahead.

"Light Snow, " he whispered under his breath, throwing a invisible blanket of an illusion over them, hiding them from whoever was ahead.

Luckily, Tanizaki activated it in time. For if he had not, they would have been caught by the perpetrator. And by the gun in his hands, they would have definitely been shot. Realizing that Tanizaki had shielded them, Okada gave him a thumbs up, bounding up the stairs and slapping her trusty old handcuffs on him.

"Thanks for covering me, " Okada said with a smile.

"No problem, but why do you have handcuffs?" Tanizaki asked, suspicious.

Okada let out a huge sigh, as though Tanizaki and just asked her if the earth was flat.

"I already told you, Tanizaki-san. If I told you, that wouldn't be fun, " Okada said, before letting go of the man and letting him squirm on the floor,

"Tell me why you did this. I'm curious, " Okada stated, kicking the man in the ribs.

The man that was lying on the floor was Ueno Tetsuya. The man was a married man just until a year ago, when his wife had gotten into a car incident. He tried everything he could to cope with her death, until it became too much. It all started when he met a girl who had the same face as his wife. He couldn't bear the pain any further, so he killed her. Every time he saw someone who had a feature of his wife, he'd bring them here so that he could bring back the body of his dead wife.

"That's disgusting. All right, Tanizaki, you deal with this one. I'll meet you at the police station with coffee, " Okada said with a smile, walking out the doors.

Tanizaki shook his head with a sigh. She really was a weird one, huh?
