Elle POV
"Welcome aboard to United Airlines flight 628. Nonstop service from Los Angeles, California, to Boston, Massachusetts." The flight attendant went on as we were about to take off. Noah grabbed my hand tightly, giving me the brightest smile. I couldn't believe this was actually happening.
After a ton of convincing, lots of affection, and forcing myself to laugh at my dad's awful dad jokes- he finally gave in to the idea of me going to Boston with Noah.
He was hesitant at first because he wouldn't be able to make it to the city for a couple of weeks, so it left just me and Noah. So Noah and my dad had a one on one talk, and it seemed as if my dad immediately changed his mind, along with my ass kissing of course.
Neither my dad nor Noah will tell me what they talked about, no matter how hard I tried. So I decided to let it be- for now.
So for the most part, everything was smooth sailing. June was beyond excited for us, Brad was happy to get another room to himself, my dad was nervous, but is happy that I'm growing up and making decisions. And most importantly, I was happy. I knew I was right where I needed to be and I wouldn't have it any other way. Except for one thing.
Lee still hasn't reached out to me. What hurts the most is he knew I was flying out, but still didn't bother to try talking to me. I really hoped things would go back to normal, but I'm starting to think they never will.
"Shelly," Noah said softly. He must've known I was stuck in my thoughts considering I became radio silent. "How many times do I have to tell you you've done nothing wrong?" He slightly chuckled. "I know how much he means to you, and how much you mean to him. So he shouldn't be able to keep the act up for much longer- and if he does, it was never worth it to begin with."
"I just don't know what to do anymore," I sighed, rubbing my eyes. "I've tried everything I could to talk to him."
"I know you did. Just stop worrying about it and wait for him to make the first move- it shouldn't be too long, Shelly." He put his hand on my thigh, squeezing it for reassurance. I couldn't help but notice how close his hand was on my thigh to the core of my body. He rubbed it up even further sending goosebumps up my body. I looked up and saw his infamous smirk.
"Keep it up and we will both be joining the mile high club, Noah." I tried to act serious, but I knew my grin was creeping out my lips.
"You act like thats a bad thing. 14 year old Noah made it a goal to join the mile high club, so I'm all here for it." I let out a slight chuckle, hoping no one around us was listening in.
"So I'll go to the bathroom now, and in 3 minutes you come in and we can officially join the club?"
"Uh, hell yes! Well go on, what are we waiting on-."
"It's a joke, Noah!" I laughed. His cheeks turned a bright shade of red and he sank into his seat.
"That wasn't every nice, you got my hopes up," Noah pouted. Even when he was acting like a baby he was absolutely adorable.
"Don't worry, I'll make up for it later." I shot him a wink and his smirk reappeared.
"I'm taking your word for it, Elle."
.
It wasn't until the late night when we finally landed in Boston. The moon was awake and the city lights were bright. Noah and I had someone drop our bags off at his apartment that way Noah could show me around the city.
"I'm literally jealous you spent last year here. I'm already in love." I gleamed. There were people dancing around to a violinist on the street, people riding in horse carriages- it was like even though the sun was down, no one went to sleep. The streets were as lively as ever.
"You know, it's never too late to transfer to Harvard. We could live together, go to school together. It would be perfect," he was confident in his words, smiling, holding my hand.
"That's very tempting, Mr. Flynn. But I better wait at least another year before I make any big decisions like that. Not only would my dad have a heart attack, but imagine Lee's reaction to that." We both started to laugh, but sadly, it was true.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure we would both die."
We were met with a silence as we held hands walking through the streets of Boston. Although it wouldn't seem like it, Boston is nothing like LA. Boston was more wholesome.
"So, Noah. You do know since I'm the newbie in town you have to show me all your favorite spots."
"Well, you said that with perfect timing," he said, stopping in his tracks. He turned to building with a huge smile on his face. "This is my all time fav spot in Boston. It doesn't get much better than this!"
I looked up to see where we were at, and once I did, I bursted out laughing. "Fro yo?!"
"Hey, you can't bash it till you try it." He lead the way into the fro yo place. "This is literally what I lived on freshman year of college."
We got our frozen yogurts, and Noah took no time finding a table and stuffing his mouth. I swear by the time I sat down he was nearly finished. But I couldn't blame him, when I took my first bite I was in heaven.
"How did you not gain the freshman fifteen?! This is literally so yummy, I'd be here every night!" I said, hoping he could understand me, considering my mouth was full.
He smirked, positioning his arms to where his muscles showed. "I did gain the fifteen, it was all muscle though."
"I literally hate you," we laughed. "You just flexed on me so hard. That was such a Noah thing to do."
"Whatever," he smiled. "Are you playing soccer at Columbia?"
"No, I mean I could if I wanted to, but I figured I should focus purely on med school and career." We both finished our froyos, so I stacked them on top of each other and started to play with the spoons.
"The Elle Evans I always knew wanted to be pilot, what happened to that?"
I cut him off laughing. "Noah, 10 year old Elle Evans wanted to be that. As for the med school part, I knew I wanted to do something along these lines when my mom passed," he shook his head, clearly engaged in the conversation, "when she died I knew I wanted to help people as best as I can, that way no one would have to experience what I did."
"You're gonna change the world, Elle Evans." Noah gave me a genuine smile. It was right then I knew I was never going to let Noah go again. He was the piece of me I needed, and I knew my mom would definitely approve.
"I love you," I softly said, taking his hands in mine. "Even if we got preoccupied the other night and you didn't let me watch the rain scene in The Notebook."
He chuckled. "I mean I knew the movie meant a lot to you, but that much?!"
"Uhhh yes," I smiled. "And if that's not how you propose to me, in the rain, I don't want it!"
"Noted," he said, playfully rolling his eyes.
"Now, how about we go back to your apartment so I can make up for earlier?" I smirked.
Without a word, Noah quickly took my hand and lead the way back to his apartment.
It was a memorable night, to say the least.
Again, thanks so much for all the love! It means a lot! Vote and comment for more, those keep me very motivated! <3
