3k?! Absolutely crazy. Thank you guys.Elle POV
"You know, Elle, as much as I didn't act like it, I always knew you were going to be the one growing up. Since I can remember we had this bond, and I knew it was special," Noah softly said, as I closed my eyes and listened. It was around ten, but Noah and I were still in bed, and he was tracing shapes on my bare back.
"Oh," I chucked. "So that's why you were always nagging at me, making fun of me, and calling me your little brothers annoying best friend? You were just showing me how special our bond was to you?" I jokingly laughed, and Noah did too.
"Oh whatever, Shelly," Noah smiled. "You made fun of me just as much." Silence took over for a moment, before Noah spoke up. "But I'm being serious though, Elle. I'm just super grateful for you, and I want you to know it."
I knew I was blushing, which was why I was happy my face was hidden from Noah. "I know you are, Noah. I love you."
"I love you too, Shelly." He started to place soft kisses along my back, sending goosebumps across my body. Before things could get any further, there were a few knocks on the door.
Noah groaned just as he was about to get up, but I stopped him. "Don't worry, I got it," I gave him a reassuring smile before throwing on one of his large tees.
Anger immediately took over my body when I saw who was on the other side of the door. He must've been able to read my expression, because he was quick to talk. "Elle, I know you're upset-."
"Upset, Lee?!" I yelled. "You ignored me for months! I'm not just upset, Lee. I'm way past that."
"Calm down, please let's just talk-." I cut him off once again. He was not about to act like everything was alright.
"Lee, I don't think you understand what I'm trying to say!" I yelled, balling my fists up in anger. "I don't want to be talking to you right now, and I sure as hell don't want to see you! So please just leave-."
"Jeez, Elle, why are you yelling?" Noah spoke, walking out of his room. He gave me a confused look and walked toward the door. "Lee."
Noah pressed his hand along my back, knowing it would calm my nerves. "Hey, little bro. Why are you in Boston?"
"I came to talk to Elle," he pleaded, but I wasn't going fall for it. He was trying to guilt trip me.
"You want to talk? After all this time, you finally want to talk, Lee? You were supposed to be my best friend and support me. But the second I did something you didn't agree with, you ghosted me. I think we did enough talking." Before Lee got another word in, I walked away.
"It's best you leave for now, but I'll call you later," Is all I could hear Noah say before walking into his room and slamming his door.
I can't believe Lee had one, the audacity to even show up, and two, act like everything was alright. Before my angry thoughts escalated Noah walked in.
"You good? You seemed pretty fired up out there," Noah slightly chuckled, but I rolled my eyes. "Sorry," he muttered under his breath.
I ran my hands though my hair pacing back and force. But I had to take a seat on Noah's bed when my stomach started to turn upside down.
"You alright, Elle?" Noah asked, sitting next to me.
"My stomach is acting up, that's all." There were a few minutes of silence before I spoke up again. "Noah, I'm not talking to him."
"I know where you're coming from, Elle, but maybe you should. I know you got the biggest heart and you'll eventually regret it." He went on about how we've been best friends forever, and that we couldn't let one thing ruin it.
"Noah!" I cut him off again. I was good at that today. "Imagine if the second you told me you were going to Harvard I completely ghosted you for months, making you feel like you've made a terrible decision? It sucks. Things just aren't the same anymore- and I don't think they ever will."
"Elle are you sure you're okay? You look really pale right now." Panic grew over Noah as he started to examine my body.
I stood up to go look at myself in the mirror, but as soon as I did I started to get lightheaded. I tried my best to get to the bathroom as fast as I could because I knew I was about to throw up.
Luckily, I made it just in time. Noah was trailing right behind me to hold my hair back. Just like back in LA a month ago. After yacking my guts up, I sat down on the cold bathroom floor in relief.
"Elle, why are you sick?" Noah asked, getting a cold washcloth for my head.
"I'm okay, Noah. Don't worry," I slightly chuckled. "I'm not sick, it's probably just the breakfast from this morning, I promise."
He looked hesitant but replied with a simple, "okay."
"But I would definitely be down for a nap."
"Then you shall get a nap." Noah swooped me under his arms and carried me to his bed.
Then we both cuddled up, while it started to drizzle outside, and fell asleep in each other's arms.
.
I woke up and it was nearly night fall. I still felt a bit out of it, but I was definitely better. I patted next to me and frowned when I didn't feel Noah. But it wasn't long until a yummy smell took over my body.
I pulled a sweatshirt over my body and threw my hair up in a messy bun before walked out to the kitchen.
"There she is," Noah smirked, meeting me halfway embracing me in a hug. "You has me thinking you were dead."
I chuckled hopping onto the kitchen counter. "Why didn't you wake me?"
"Elle, you shoulda heard how loud you were snoring," he laughed, "There was no way I was waking you up. Plus, I figured you needed it after you basically threw up everything in your body."
I hummed in agreement. "What are you making? It smells really good."
"I only had some noodles and sauce so I figured I could make spaghetti," Noah stated. I took the spoon and licked the sauce, he could definitely cook. "If I get sick, it's on you."
I groaned in annoyance. "You act like your tongue isn't down my throat every other night."
"Yeah, yeah." He rolled his eyes before going back to cooking. I sat and stared at him, feeling nothing but happiness. We were at peace for a while before Noah spoke up. "So... Lee."
"Ugh, just as I was forgetting about that." My head already started to ache just thinking about it.
"Are you gonna talk to him or no? I support whatever decision you make, but he told me he leaves tomorrow night. I don't want you to lose your chance if you want it." He came over to me, placing his hands on either of my thighs.
"Good," I said in a cold voice. "The sooner he leaves the better." Noah simply hummed knowing it was best if he just agreed with me. He went back to cooking, placing the spaghetti on our plates. "I'll talk to him before he leaves. But I'm not going to hold back anything."
"Good, I don't want you to ever hold back anything you have to say." He gave me a smile, gesturing me to follow him to the table.
"I'm so glad I woke up to this. I was starving." I shoved my mouth full bite after bite, making Noah chuckle. "What?"
"That good or that hungry?"
"Let's just say, I could definitely get used to this every night. Hubby material." I shot him a wink and dug right back in.
