The next day was rainy. Jess did not show up in school, apparently she got sick, at least that's what she says. Quinn knows that rain is always an excuse for her best friend to not attend to school.
Practice time came. Quinn had to take a bus, usually it would be Jess who would drove her up, but since she has a flu, she just had to take the bus, she just wishes she already had her car license, yet she was so far away from this.
"Where's Jess?", April had asked as she saw a lack of person when her students stood on their own positions.
"Oh she is sick, she said she will be absent for next 3 or 4 days.", Quinn answered.
Yesterday was fun she thought, she wishes she could spend more time with April, not only rehearsalsing but doing other stuff that she does with her friends. She knows that Jess likes this guy who works at mattresses store, she sees it coming that they will get together soon and she definitely doesn't want to be a third wheel to the couple. Of course she had bonded with her dance teammates, yet, something just attracts her to the older brunette.
"Ah okay, no offense but she is the best dancer in this group so she will have no issues to catch up with our routine.", April said, her arms staying on her hips, posture straight and stronh as always. "Lets go with the warm up, and then we push the choreography once again, glasses boy still need to learn how to flip properly!", she shouted.
Yep, she still does not remember names.
For past 2 hours, April had been observing certain blonde girl. She noticed that the cartlon then practiced yesterday is looking as good as never. Choreographer knew that the girl tries her best, and that dance is her priority now, although she did know that Quinn is kind of a nerd, she started thinking wether everything in school goes well too.
"Goth girl, your moved are still a bit too heavy, remember you are not an elephant, you can make your body fly like a feather.", April said when they were all done.
"I have a name you know.", the girl said out of breath, exhausted from the practice.
"Oh I do know, doesn't mean I have to use it.", she sassied and left the students to check her phone.
Recently April had been meeting a lot with her ex boyfriend Nick, mostly because his sister is very close to her, she remembered she was just like a sister towards the younger girl before she left to live in New York.
April really did want to know if Quinn can handle both school and dance practice, however, when she turned back to the dance floor she had saw no living soul. She sighed, guess she will do it another time then. She considered to send blonde girl a text message, yet it would seem a bit forced conversation.
She shrugged to herself and left the studio.
The rain wouldn't stop, raindrops hardly hit the glass of the truck April was driving. Her eyes caught a familiar person just she thought she knew, so she stopped the car just in front of the bus stop. She rolled a window down to the next passenger seat.
"Get in.", April said a bit louder so the younger girl could hear her over the rain and loud cars.
And so did Quinn walked up to the car just to say, "No thanks, the bus will be almost here. I don't mind waiting just a bit."
"Ackerman, get in the car.", April said with her voice low and stern as if she was threatening somebody.
"Yes Miss April.", Quinn said quickly.
She got in the car and they set off.
"When will you get your driving license? Most of people in your age already have their own car.", April said nonethelessy, eyes focused on the road.
"I didn't really have time to.. learn it because I was busy with the school. Especially now that I'm senior and I just feel this constant rush and insecurity. But my mom tries to teach me driving tho."
"Really? And how is going?"
"Really good, totally getting this. I was made for driving, I'm doing very well.", she lied trying to impress the brunette.
April gave her this look that said something like 'I know you're lying'.
Quinn sighed and put her head down. "Fine. I'm still stuck on the parking lot.", she mumbled.
Brunette chuckled. "Do you want me to teach you driving as well?"
Shorter girl didn't say anything and just rollled her eyes.
"Awh don't sulk at me. You're probably better than me in any other things.", April said.
Brunette is cursing herself in her own thoughts for being so unprofessional, she promised herself that she will treat every of her students the same, yet here she is treating Quinn just as if they're best friends. April knows it is wrong, for such behavior many of teams are being ruined. They say never get attached to your co-worker or in general the person who you are supposed to have only professional relationship with.
However, she cannot stop herself. Watching Quinn in dance studio isn't enough for her. She wants to talk to her more frequently, she wants to get to know the younger girl, she wants to know what she likes, what she dislikes, what is her opinion on certain things. She really wishes she could meet Quinn Ackerman on different circumstances.
Her train of thought wouldn't stop but it did once she noticed Quinn's house coming up in the view. Once she arrived she stopped the car.
April still had this one question in her mind, but should she really ask? Wouldn't it invade Quinn's personal life. It is obviously certain that every teacher should care about student's personal life, but.. should she really?"Thank you for the ride, you really didn't have to.", Quinn spoke up first, seeing as April is just starting at this one point behind the front window.
April turned to look at the blonde haired girl. "Ah yeah, it's no big deal, I know from experience that buses are horrible. Besides the bus stop to your house is not close, wouldn't we want those beautiful locks the get wet huh?", April said in soft, calming voice, almost whispering while touching one of Quinn's locks and twirling it around her finger for spare second before letting it go.
Quinn was speachless. "Uh yeah, I- I guess.", she stuttered being tongue-tied with the brunette. "Okay, well then, see you tomorrow at the practice.", she said quickly, she needed air.
Just about when Quinn was to leave, April caught her arm, stopping her. "Wait. Can I ask you a question?"
Quinn noticed that her voice seemed worried, she nodded watching another girl.
