Journey to the Land of the Waves

As the two ninjas walking over to the spot, Kakashi couldn't get it out of his thoughts of how the H/C haired male performed Sasuke's technique. He shakes his head for a bit as they reached the spot, seeing a tied up Naruto on a post, and his other two teammates sitting down on the side.

Naruto: Y/N! There you are!

Sasuke: Where were you? The time is up and we didn't even get a single bell!

He said as Y/N looked at Sasuke, jingling a small bell on his hand as he shows it to them.

Y/N: Sorry, I managed to snag one bell after we split up.

Naruto: Woah! That's awesome!

Sakura: How did you do that!?

Y/N just shrugged a bit as he flashed a small smile, this caught Sasuke's attention as he now knew why he considered Y/N a hurdle in his path.

Kakashi explained about what is happening, apparently, the three of them will retake the test. Kakashi said that Sasuke and Sakura can eat their lunch, except for Naruto.

Kakashi teleported away as Y/N was left behind to look after them, watching them if they should feed Naruto. He knew he wanted to, but, to get them caught and have them explain the whole concept of the test is something they have to take.

Y/N leaned down on the tree, closing his eyes as he takes a small nap, waiting for them to move on their own accord, cracking a small part of his eye as he saw the ravenette and the pinkette feed the blond was a great sight to look at. Even if they didn't get on the same page earlier, they think like a team.

He let out a small sigh as he closes his eyes once again to get a small nap. A couple of moments later and yelling was filled the area as Y/N slowly opened his eyes, seeing that the three retreating figures were walking away, leaving Naruto all tied up still.

Y/N sighed as he pushes himself up, grabbing a kunai on his pocket as he walks over towards the boy, cutting the rope clean on the post as Naruto regained his movement.

Naruto: You're a real lifesaver Y/N.

Y/N: Eh, don't mention it. Come on, let's head home.

He said as he smiled at him, ruffling his head for a bit as the two of them followed their teacher and their two other members back home.

The next day, Y/N was helping some of the villagers, being part of Team 7's missions, Kakashi decided to hand Y/N some of their missions to lessen the load, leaving the other 3 scrambling around to catch a cat.

Y/N was all around the village, but he is actually making progress, having to do this multiple times were quite his usual thing now. After a couple of moments later, he was already done for the day as he heads over to the Hokage's office to report.

A couple of moments later, he reached the Hokage Office, walking up towards the door as he opened up, letting himself inside as the first thing that greeted him was a furious looking Naruto arguing with the calm and collected Hokage, hearing this just let out a sigh from his side as he slowly approached Kakashi and the rest of Team 7.

Hiruzen: Okay fine. I'll have you do a C rank mission.

He said as this caught Naruto's attention, having his eyes opened wide at the news that he got, apart from the other's attention, they were surprised by it.

Hiruzen: You'll be bodyguards to someone. Could you please come in?

He said as Team 7's gaze met in front of the door, waiting for the said someone to come in. As the door slides open, revealing a drunk old man, looking at them.

Old Man: What's this? It's just a bunch of darned squirts!

He said as he proceeds to drink from his bottle of sake, wiping off the drippings from his mouth.

Old Man: Particularly you, the smallest one with the idiot face.

Naruto: Ahahah! Who's the smallest one with the idiot face he's talking about?

He said as he paused looking at his surroundings, seeing Sasuke and Sakura having a tall figure than him he looked at Y/N seeing that he was a little short. Naruto closed his eyes and released a sigh of relief as shortly after, he saw Y/N was the same height as Kakashi.

He gasps a little bit as he rubbed his eyes, taking one good look at Y/N again as he now saw that he was taller than him by a few inch.

Naruto: What?!

He measured himself as his face turned upside down as he was now rearing to go and put on a fight, luckily, he was stopped by Kakashi.

Y/N: 'I just love playing tricks on him.'

He thought as he was yet quiet at himself, seeing his nephew's reaction towards the trick that he had just pulled off.

Tazuna: I'm Tazuna, veteran bridge builder.

Hiruzen: Your task is to escort him to the Land of the Waves safely tomorrow. I trust that there won't be a problem?

He asked as Team 7 only nodded, making their first C Rank mission official as they were dismissed for the day, getting ready for tomorrow.

The Next Day

Naruto: We're off!!!

He yelled as the 6 of them were outside the village gate, heading to their destination as Naruto was quite excited for the day.

Tazuna: Hey, Am I really okay with this squirt?!

Kakashi: I'm a Jonin. I'll be watching him. There's no need to worry.

Y/N: 'And I'm just some guy who has skills that rivals the Hokage but trapped in a child's body and a Genin, but you don't see me complaining.'

He thought as his small rant was just dismissed as he took a close look at his team and the one who will they be escorting with, just seeing the unseen chaos that they will have from Tazuna and Naruto would be interesting enough, but in Y/N's case, he was on to something.

"What are you trying to hide, Tazuna?"
