A/N: I personally do not ship Breddy. This is written platonically and with the impression that they are just best friends, their friendship being very close and strong, which seems to be the situation in real life too.
Please remember that this is written by a 12 year old. Sorry if it does meet your expectations, but I would be so happy if you voted and commented ❤️

Brett stared frightfully at the sheet music showing on the iPad in front of him. Left hand pizz with the PINKY?
He struggled to pluck the double stop with his small pinky, cringing when he could barely get it at half the volume.
He groaned. Using his right index to scroll down so he could see more of the incredibly hard music, his finger accidentally glanced off the reload button on the music page.
This happened way too often.
So Brett wasn't even that surprised as he waited patiently for the page to load again. IMSLP was extremely useful but sometimes took too long to reload, wasting precious seconds when he COULD be practicing instead. Lingling would be disappointed. He pushed his glasses up against his nose and put his bow hand on his hip, feeling the soft fabric of the "I NEED TO PRACTICE" shirt, the words clearly reflecting his current state of mind.
As the IMSLP page continued to refresh, Eddy walked into Brett's room, where he had been practicing.
"Hey dude," he said simply, leaning against the inside of the door. "Sorry to disturb you, but are we getting hotpot or noodles tonight?"
Brett smirked. "I think you know the answer to that."
Eddy snickered as well. "So, hotpot then."
"What about the movie?" Brett asked.
Eddy had just been about to turn around and go back to the living room, but he paused and shrugged. "I don't really care. We can watch whatever you want to watch, bro."
Brett honestly didn't care what they watched either, so he declared, "Just pick a random one then. Maybe it'll end up being interesting."
He didn't even realise what he had just said until Eddy burst out laughing and went "InTeReStInG!"
They both shared a laugh before Eddy finally turned back to order the takeout. Brett smiled at his retreating back. Even a two minute encounter with his best friend lifted his spirits.
The IMSLP page had long been reloaded and was ready to go, so Brett lifted his hands and began to sight read the rest of the passage he had just started working on that very day.
Brett had been crashing at Eddy's place for the last few months, with quarantine and all that. There was absolutely NO WAY he was going to be walking to Eddy's place almost every day with his violin and possibly his viola if they were planning to need it. He was too paranoid for that.
After Brett had needed to go to the hospital for private reasons, he was told to stay inside his house for some time, forcing him to film videos with Eddy on Zoom. Needless to say, it was definitely a lot harder to make it work with that setup. They had even needed to film some videos separately, Eddy playing OSU alone, and Brett playing Cytus.
Once Brett could go out again he moved into Eddy's place, and that was where he had been staying - and where he would continue to stay until the lockdown was lifted. All of Brett's necessities, his violin and viola, clothes, and anything else that he needed were now in the guest bedroom closet. And of course he slept in the guest bedroom too. That was where he was practicing right now.
Brett sighed as he struggled with the left hand pizzes once more. He was significantly better at left hand pizz than Eddy, but this in particular was very difficult. He tuned out every other noise around him - which wasn't much, really - and focused on the notes in front of him.
//one hour later//
The smell of delicious hotpot drifting to Brett's nose led him from his room into the living room. There was a large grayish green couch in the middle of the room, a coffee table, and a big TV. On the coffee table was two hotpot meals, the TV remote, and...was that...BUBBLE TEA??!
Brett's brain promptly short-circuited.
Eddy, who was already sitting on the couch, looked up and smiled at Brett's surprised and distant expression. "Yep, I got bubble tea! I thought we could reward ourselves just today. We did plan and film a lot today, after all."
Brett struggled to tear his eyes away from the bubble tea and forced himself to look at Eddy. "Yeah, thanks!" His eyes were bright and sunny.
Eddy relished seeing Brett like this. It was rare to see him smile so lightly lately. He held out his arms as Brett came and gave him a nice, friendly "thank-you" hug.
Brett sat down next to Eddy on the couch, bringing up his socked feet to rest underneath him. He scooted slightly closer to Eddy, so they were almost touching. Winter was just starting in Australia, after all. It was beginning to get a bit cold. All they needed right now was body heat from each other in order not to freeze. Although they didn't get snow in Brisbane, the temperatures still dropped.
He looked at the random movie Eddy had pulled up on Netflix. He skimmed the description - something about a dragon and a wizard falling in love - and then looked to Eddy.
"So, is this what we're watching?" Brett asked, picking up his chopsticks from the table and taking them out from their wrapper.
"I guess so," Eddy answered. "It seemed cool, so, I guess we'll see."
As Eddy picked up the remote and played the movie, Brett started digging into his hotpot. The intro to the movie started, and Brett readied his bubble tea, inserting the straw - pointy end down! - and brought it to his lips for the first lovely sip.
