Disclaimer: I don't own Ninjago, just the story.

The moms picked up the kids from school and took them back to the monastery.

"Hey dad," Alex said to Jay as she walked in and hugged him.

"Hey sweetheart," Jay said.  "How was school?"

"It was ok," Alex said with a fake smile.

Justin started to sneak into the kitchen.

Cole walked out into the living room where everyone except Justin was.  "Who wants some snacks?" Cole asked and started to walk to the kitchen.

"Uh...Master Cole!" Max said, getting Cole's attention.  He wanted to distract Cole, so that Justin could grab an ice pack from the freezer without anyone noticing.  "I was just curious.  How much do you think you could lift?"

"I don't know.  Probably a lot.  Why do you ask?"

Juliet, Mason, and Rosie were watching and Mason decided to help out.  "He wants to know because we were having a debate earlier," Mason said.  "I was kind of curious how much I could possibly lift."

"Hmmm...you know that's a good question.  I've never thought about it myself.  Maybe we should test it later."

Justin managed to get the ice pack and sneak over to his room.

"What was I doing?" Cole said.  "Oh right...snacks!"

"Where did Justin go?" Nya asked.

"He went to his room to start on homework which is what the rest of us should be doing," Alex said.

"It's the first day of school," Britney said.  "You guys don't usually get homework."

"We don't have much," Juliet cut in.  "Just some get to know you letters.  Bye!"

Alex, Max, Juliet, Mason, and Rosie ran down the hall towards their rooms.

"Well that was...weird," Zeke said.

"Very," Harper agreed.

Zeke, Harper, Felix, and the parents stood there confused.

Alex, Max, Juliet, and Mason all went to their rooms, but when Rosie got to her door, she glanced at Justin's room.  She stopped for a second, debating on what to do.  She ended up deciding to check on Justin.

Justin, in his room, placed the ice pack he grabbed on his bed and laid his back on it, letting the cold sooth it.  He started to relax a bit until he heard a knock at the door.  "Who is it?" he asked nervously.  He didn't want to get caught by his parents.

"It's Rosie," Rosie said.  "Can I come in?"

"Yeah.  Sure."

Rosie walked in and saw Justin laying on his bed.  "I wanted to make sure you were ok," she said sweetly.

"I'm fine.  This is our normal routine when one of us gets hurt by Nathan."

"How long have you guys been doing this?"

"Since shortly after starting high school."

"You've been putting up with him for that long."

"Yeah."

Rosie walked over to Justin's bed.  "Can I take a look?  I am a nindroid.  I just want to make sure that it's not serious."

"Sure."  Justin sat up and put his back towards Rosie, so she could look at it.

Rosie scanned Justin's back.  "It looks like a bad bruise and very minor tissue damage.  Do you mind if I rub it a little.  It could help."

"Be my guest.  I'm willing to try anything to be able to make it feel better."

Rosie started to rub it.  "How have you guys managed being able to hide your injuries from this guy from your parents?"

"Luck I guess.  Although, I'm the one who ends up getting hurt the most."

"Why is that?"

"I always make him mad first."

"How do you do that?"

"I stick up for the people I care about, like what I did for you, Juliet, and Mason.  I do that a lot for Alex and Max too."

"You do?"

"Yeah.  I would rather take a hit than let anyone I care about take it."

"You know, you act all tough on the outside, but you are sweet and caring on the inside."

"Don't tell anyone that.  It'll ruin my image."  They both laughed.

"Your secret is safe with me."

"You know for a nindroid, you give an excellent back rub."

"What do you mean for a nindroid?"

"I just didn't expect a nindroid to be so good at it."

"Well, just because I'm a nindroid doesn't mean I can't do stuff like this."

"Thanks for your help Rosie."

"I'm always here to help.  Alex may be your sister and Max may be your best friend, but we're friends too and friends help each other out."

"I think I'm gonna owe you one for this."

Rosie laughed.  "You don't owe me anything.  I'm just being a good friend and a good teammate."

"Well, we could finally be a team if our parents trusted us more and we had a villain to fight.  There has been no villain in Ninjago for 10 years."

"There is always still a chance that one can start causing havoc on Ninjago City or an old villain can come back wanting revenge."

"Can Nathan be a villain?  I would love to not have to hold back on him and electrocute that smug smile off of his face."

"I know, but we cannot fight the innocent."

"What's so innocent about him?"

"Good point...but still-"

"I know.  I know.  I'm not going to do that."  Justin sighed.  "Thanks again Rosie."

"Of course."  Rosie got up to leave and Justin laid back down on the ice pack. "If you need anything, all you have to do is ask."  Rosie walked out of the room and smiled as she went to her room.

The parents were all by themselves in the living room because shortly after most of the kids went to their rooms, Zeke, Harper, and Felix followed suit.

"The kids were acting weird, right?" Nya asked.

"It seemed like they were hiding something," Jay added.

"They distracted Cole, so he wouldn't go into the kitchen right away," Lloyd pointed out.

"Wait...was that what they were doing?" Cole asked.

"You didn't figure it out?" Kai asked.

"I just thought they were having a conversation with me."

"Do you think something may have happened at school?" Britney asked.

"Whatever it is, we need to find out," Skylor said.

"Just pointing out how it seemed like Justin managed to slip past all of us," Zane said.

"Yeah," Jay said.  "I guess the ninja training is really working for him."

"When are we going to let them actually become a team?" Seliel asked.

"When they're ready," Lloyd said.

"When they are actually ready or when we're all ready to let them be a team," PIXAL said.
