Chapter Thirty-One: Soulmate

"W-what did you say? Soulmate? What do you even mean?"

"Yes. Soulmate. We've both stepped in the lands of Zefiore." Sagot ni Bryan kay Vellaine.

Napa-mura nalang si Vellaine sa curse ng Zefiore. Buong akala niya ay ang mga nakatira lang doon ang apektado ng sumpa.

Ang realm ng magic, kung saan nandoon ang Zefiore Kingdom ay ang kindom na mayroong curse/blessing ng d'yosa nila na si Galadeus, kung saan lahat ng doon nakatira at aapak doon ay magkakaroon ng other half, which were their Soulmate.

Magsasalita pa sana si Vellaine but Bryan hushed her and continued to tell his story, "Matagal ko nang nalaman na siya 'yon but the thought of her being happy without me restrained me from saying it, I was afraid that it might not be the same if it was me and 'til now, I've kept it as a secret."

Magtatanong sana si Vellaine pero agad nahulaan ni Bryan 'to kaya bago pa man makapagtanong si Vellaine ay sumagot na siya, "How? The Yereluv clan masters the art of seals, I simply sealed everything that can be related to my bloodline."

Vellaine mouthed the words 'You f****r' to Bryan na ikinatawa nito.

"I thought I was going insane when I met Vellaine of Sanguinum Queens, it's why I was mad at you most of the time and why I avoided you, you made me feel complicated and conflicted. Only to find out that they were the same person."

"Bryan stop. Are you high?" Di-makapaniwalang tanong ni Vellaine with her face distorted into a frown.

"Vellaine stop. You can't deny it. Kahit ayaw mong maniwala yoon ang totoo. I won't gain anything from lying to you." 

"Well what'd you expect me to do when you suddenly drop a bomb?!" Tanong niya, she lost her cool a few minutes ago, hindi pa niya na di-digest ang iba pa niyang narinig.

Walang nagawa si Bryan kundi pumikit at pakiramdaman ang seal niya sa katawan and he removed his seal once na nakita niya 'yon.

Both felt the resurgence of power. Nanlaki ang mata ni Vellaine, 'Isang Yereluv nga...' she thought.

She closed her eyes and massaged her temple, hoping that the incoming headache wouldn't be as bad.

"Anong gusto mo'ng gawin ko? You don't expect that I'll suddenly fall for you right?"

"What—of course not!"

"So bakit mo sinabi ngayon? Bakit ngayon lang?"

Bryan cleared his throat again before answering, "Kung noon ko pa 'to sinabi, we wouldn't even be here. They would've caught us off guard and will use me against you."

Vellaine scoffed at his answer, "What makes you think that I wouldn't let you die before?"

"You're not that heartless Princess. Besides, hindi mo kayang mabuhay nang patay na ang other hald mo. Once na sabihin—marealize mo ang kondisyon nating dalawa ay magiging in full force na ang soulmate bond. Sa una ay pilit tayong paglalapitin, hanggang sa ma-feel mo ang certain connection then eventually, you'll know that they're the other half of your soul at kapag nangyari 'yon kung ang isa ay malapit na sa death's door, kung ano ang na mafi-feel nya ay mararamdaman mo and if they die, you'll be heartbroken and empty inside."
