"What colour brings out my eyes?"
Louis' question went unanswered as Harry silently turned the page of his book.
"Harold."
Harry snapped his head up and furrowed his eyebrows. Louis was staring at him with his arms crossed.
"Harry, we don't have all day."
"Uhm. Black should work well?"
Harry watched as Louis grabbed a black turtleneck and slipped it on. It messed up his hair, and he let out a sigh. Harry chuckled but immediately stopped when Louis turned to face him.
"And what exactly are you laughing at? You aren't even dressed yet. I hope you don't plan on leaving in those- what are those?"
"They're uh frogs."
"Right, so do you plan on leaving in bedazzled frogs? They're rainbow too. Christ, please, I can't be seen with you in those."
Harry was incredibly confused but got out of bed anyway. He heard a snicker and looked over this shoulder at Louis.
"They have sunglasses. You have bedazzled, rainbow, frogs with sunglasses. Where did you even get those?"
Harry blushed before changing into something more appropriate for the public. He still wasn't sure what they were doing. The pair hadn't spoken since the incident five days ago, and neither one planned on bringing it up.
"Louis? Where are we going?"
Louis frowned and sat down to pull his Vans on.
"To lunch?"
Something clicked in Harry's brain, and he hastily unlocked his phone.
lunch with lou, don't forget this time :)
Harry dropped his phone as a shoe hit him in the leg. He glanced up to find Louis glaring at him from the door. He picked up the Van and stepped over to the tiny man who was now threatening to throw Harry's boot.
The two left the room and made their way to a coffee shop that Louis claimed to have discovered one night when he was running low on caffeine. Harry rolled his eyes but followed Louis inside anyway.
The initial smell was heavenly. Harry inhaled the scent of cinnamon and chocolate as he accompanied Louis to the counter. He eyed the chocolate chip muffins behind the glass and elbowed his friend. Louis glared at him as he ordered their drinks, a hot chocolate for Harry and a dark coffee for Louis. He then pointed at the muffin, and Harry grinned as he took it out.
Now equipped with drinks and a half-eaten muffin, the boys made their way to an empty table. Louis rolled his eyes as Harry shoved the remains of his muffin in his mouth, not caring that people were staring at the lanky boy.
Sitting with their drinks proved to be very awkward. They had to discuss the events that took place five days prior, but neither wanted to start that conversation. So they sat there, sipping quietly, and avoided all eye contact. Until Harry decided to speak up, "You know, you don't have to tell me what made you upset."
That grabbed Louis' attention.
"I mean, I just want to know if I can help. Or uh if you're mad at me. Did I do something? Hey, this better not be because I stole your calculator to text Niall! How was I supposed to know you had a math thing that day?"
Louis snorted and shook his head, "No, you're fine. I'm just processing some things. But, I'm alright, you don't have to worry."
"If you say so. I hate not speaking with you. Wait, I have so much to tell you! Did you know that whale poo floats?"
"What?"
Harry and Louis spent a considerable part of their afternoon in the coffee shop, trading random facts and questioning how they went five days without speaking. Everything was fixed and perfect.
Except nothing is perfect.
