(Brittany's POV)I sat in the middle of the studio floor staring at the clock. This was going to be my first full time job as a choreographer. It was currently 11:45 and practice would start at 12. I've always been so passionate about dancing. I was about 2 when I first started and I haven't stopped since. I've never had the opportunity to make a career out of it. It's always been substituting at schools or being a back up dancer for some random production. That was until I met Mercedes.
Not to be dramatic or anything, but when I met Mercedes it changed my life. I went from being alone in New York to sharing an apartment with my pregnant best friend, Quinn.
Quinn and I met through Mercedes obviously. Quinn and Mercedes went to school together or something. When I met Quinn it was like an instant connection. She's like a sister to me. And when she found out she was pregnant with Rowen, she was so lost. She didn't know what to do. We had only just became friends but it seemed like I was the only person in her life. Let's just say her parents weren't very supportive. So when she told me I wanted to do anything I could to help. We ended up getting an apartment together and now here we are. Quinn is now 7 months pregnant with a baby girl named Rowen Lee Fabray.
But back to Mercedes. She offered me a full time job as her head choreographer. Which is why I am currently in the middle of a dance studio waiting for the rest of the dancers to arrive.
My thoughts were interrupted by the studio door opening. In comes walking a very pregnant Quinn.
"Q? What are you doing here?" I asked getting up from my spot on the floor. She just smiled and walked over with a bag in her hand. "Oh nothing" she shrugged her shoulders. "I just thought I would stop by for lunch." She exclaimed holding up her bag from Breadstix. I grinned and walked over to the table. Quinn took a seat across from me and began taking out her food.
"Q you know it's my first day and the dancers are going to be here any minute now." I looked over at the clock that now read 11:52. She just shrugged and continued eating. "Okay fine you can stay, but if you interrupt my class I will escort you out myself, Miss Fabray." I gave her a playful glare. "Oh you wouldn't put your hands on a poor pregnant lady now would you?" She feigned a shocked expression as she rested her hands on her round belly. "Don't push your luck." I smiled and walked over to the middle of the floor.
"I'm nervous Q" I stated looking over at her. "What if they don't like me. Or what if they think I suck at dancing? Or what if they make fun of my cat sweater? I hate when people make fun of my cat swea-" I was cut off.
"Brittany calm down!" I just looked down at my feet. "B, you are the most talented dancer I know. They are going to love you!" She got up from the stool and walked over. "And besides, if they even look at your cat sweater the wrong way, I will unleash my inner mama bear." She smirked. I couldn't help but giggle. Quinn has always known the right things to say. She embraced me in a tight hug.
"I love you, Q"
"I love you more, B" She stepped back and smiled a tight lipped grin. I looked up at the clock and read 12:00. "They should be here any second now." I sighed.
"How many people are gonna be here?" Quinn asked picking up her trash. Just when I was about to answer the doors opened and in walked 3 boys. "Brittany, right?" A tan boy with a mow hawk asked. "Yes that would be me." I smiled. "I'm Noah Puckerman, but everyone calls me Puck. This is Mike and Sam." He gestured to the other 2 boys. I smiled and stuck out my hand to shake.
"I'm Brittany. And that one over there is Quinn." I pointed over at the girl sitting at the table. But to my surprise she wasn't there.
"Oh well she was there." I exclaimed with my brows furrowed. I turned back to see a pale look on Noah's face. He quickly shook it off when I looked at him though.
"Well then" I exclaim looking at the 3 boys. "How many more people should we be expecting?" I asked clasping my hands together. "Uh well I know that Kitty for sure is coming and so is Piper." The blonde boy spoke up which I believed was Sam. "Okay so 2 more girls?" I asked walking over to my note pad. "Oh no Piper is a boy." Sam corrected.
I nodded and wrote down all the people who were going to be here for sure. I set down my notepad and looked over to see a boy and a girl walk in. Which I'm guessing was Piper and Kitty. "Hey guys" I gave them a welcoming smile. "Just set your stuff over there." I pointed to the corner of the room.

We had just gone through the first half of the routine. They all caught on surprisingly quick. I was getting a little nervous though because we needed more girls. We only have Kitty and we need at least 3 more. "Hey Kitty?" I called over to the girl who had a towel around her neck. "Do you know if anyone else will be here? Like any other girls?" I asked, taking a sip of water.
"Oh yeah, Tina was supposed to be here today but couldn't make it. Something about family." I grabbed my notepad and wrote down the girls name. "Awesome. Anyone el-" I was cut off by the door flying open. And in walked a Tan skinned brunette. She looked out of breath. Like she had been running. I couldn't really see her face because her hair was covering it.
"Oh hello?" I chuckled at the sight. She ran her hand through her hair and finally I could see her face. She certainly was pretty. Beautiful even.
"Hi" she huffed, setting her bag down with the rest. "I'm sorry I'm late. I totally spaced this morning." She exclaimed finally looking at me. She paused for a moment just staring. Which was kinda creepy if you think about it. I glanced away trying break the staring contest.
"I-uh yeah no that's fine. I'm sure you'll catch up." I stammered. I instantly blushed. It's like her gaze could burn holes in a person. "Thanks" she smirked and walked over to Puck.
"Fashionably late as always, Lopez." He teased shaking his head. "You know it." She sent him a playful wink. I just watched the pair. Something about these dancers gave me a good feeling about this year. Especially that brunette who's name I still didn't know.
"So do you have a name?" I asked picking up my notepad once again. I looked up waiting for an answer.
"Santana."
