Smile

My alarm started ringing on my nightstand, right next to me.

I groggily groaned and reached to turn it off immediately since it was my day off. And also since me and summer were going to go shopping later since it was only 6 AM at the moment.

I turned right over and fell right back to sleep, not giving a single care about my surroundings at all, forgetting about the hybrid sleeping right next to me.

"AHHHHHHHH" I heard Summer scream at the top of her lungs, making me jump up from my slumber in absolute surprise. And not a good one.

She turned to me and pointed over, still screaming like her life was depending on it, "WHAT IS A TIGER OR SOMETHING DOING HERE!!" I turned to a sudden growl, seeing a large kitty that resembles a black panther, not a tiger.

Looking at its eyes, seeing a glowing yellow, I knew it was just Taehyung. And for whatever reason, in a certain position looking at Summer like he was gonna kill her.

I didn't panic, knowing he wouldn't actually harm her by the way his vibe came off. Even though I haven't known him for long, I caught how innerly innocent he was during the car ride.

I got up groggily and took my time to stretch while preparing to introduce my newly welcomed guest to the house as if my best friend wasn't just screaming like she was about to die.

"This is Taehyung. He's actually a hybrid. And also, he's not a tiger." I said calmly with a small yawn, giving him a reassuring smile.

I walked towards him and started settling down, going into a criss-cross position in front of him and reached to start petting him to calm him down. I raised my eyes into his glossy eyes as I petted him, staring at them with a small smile on my lips until they fluttered closed.

I felt him purr from my touch as he laid in my lap slowly and comfortably, falling back asleep. I smiled at him from how quickly he went soft in my arms.

I looked at summer, her face pale with wide eyes, trying to give her some reassurance she won't die, "I think he wouldn't actually harm you, he was just scared," I said in a whisper tone, trying to not disturb him once more. I don't really want to handle an irritated predator hybrid that I've only known for a day.

"Ever since I met him which was actually yesterday, he's been pretty stiff around me like I was a threat too. I mean, he's a stray, I couldn't let the poor guy just stay on the streets like that. Actually, I think he's warmed up a little to me. You know I love hybrids."

She softened up and her face started to regain color, thankfully. "Okay, I guess if you have him under control I'm okay. But make sure he actually doesn't kill me." I chuckled, at ease since she approves of him too.

"It's only 8:30 so I'll come and get you once work is finished for me. I made breakfast and it's in the kitchen, go get some while it's still warm!!!" She waved and started rushing out the door, already almost late for work.

Once she left, I realized the situation I was in.

I had a very, very heavy kitty on me and I didn't want to wake him up again but I wanted to eat. Food first!!

"Honey.. you need to wake up," I told him softly and he did not budge at all.

"We need to eat some food before it gets cold..come on" this time I raised my voice a little, still he did not budge.

"Taehyung."

I called his name firmly, my belly starting to make noise from hungry I was.

He didn't respond but simply rolled off of me, giving me a pass to go eat.
