Chapter 53: (BTS Cam) Emergency

The members of BTS were all smiling as they entered their dressing room. They had just finished the first half of their fan meeting event and were now on a short break before commencing with the second half. Jin and Yoongi plopped down on the couch. Hoseok and Jungkook both went straight to the water dispenser to get some water, while Namjoon, Taehyung, and Jimin went to sit by the mirrors.

A few seconds later, their manager appeared by the doorway, a grim look on his face. He called all of them to gather by the couches. They looked at him in confusion as they obeyed, wondering why he was looking so somber. He clasped his hands together in front of his body, looking down as he let out a sigh. He knew how much the boys cared about Gale. He didn't want to be the one to have to break the news to them, but since he had their phones while they were doing the fan meeting, they were still clueless about what happened to her. He himself was shocked when BLACKPINK's manager called him about two hours ago- just thirty minutes after the boys have gone on stage.

"I have some bad news." He began. "Gale was in an accident."

Everyone was shocked into silence by his announcement. Taehyung's eyes widened and his mouth fell open. Jungkook dropped the cup of water he had been holding, the floor getting wet as the water spilled all over it.

Jimin- he felt his world come crashing down as his brain processed their manager's words.

"She was hit by a car near BigHit's building. It was a hit-and-run. She was rushed to the hospital but she's in critical condition. She's in surgery right now." He continued.

"What?!" Jin exclaimed, finally snapping out of his shocked state. "When did this happen?"

"About two hours ago."

Jimin became furious as soon as he heard their manager's reply. If the accident was two hours ago, why were they just being told now?

Their manager, sensing the rising anger from him, moved to put a comforting hand on his back.

"Jimin, I need you to calm down, okay?"

Jimin grew even angrier at this, roughly shaking him off.

"How the hell can I calm down?! You just told me that my girlfriend's been hit by a car and you're telling me to calm down?!" Jimin shouted. "What are we still doing here? We need to go to the hospital. Right now."

He moved toward the door, but their manager caught his arm.

"We can't. If you leave in the middle of the event, ARMYs will wonder. YG Entertainment wants to keep this a secret for now." He said. "Jimin-ah, you have to go back out there and keep it together. After the event, we'll all go to the hospital."

"My girlfriend is fighting for her life right now and you want me to pretend like nothing's wrong?" Jimin growled. The other members of BTS were shocked at his attitude. Jimin rarely got angry, and they've never seen him that angry before. Usually, Jimin became cold and quiet when he's mad, but right now, he was lashing out.

Taehyung put his hand on Jimin's back, wanting to calm him down. The older boy looked at him and as soon as their gazes met, Taehyung saw the fear in Jimin's eyes. The two hugged each other, and Taehyung felt Jimin break down in his arms. Their manager, seeing that Jimin had finally calmed down, placed his hand again on his shoulder.

"It will be worse for Gale if people find out right now." He explained. Jimin turned to face him.

"What if something happens to her and I'm not there? What if-" His voice got stuck in his throat at the thought of Gale dying. "What if she-" He stopped again, not even able to say the words. He sat on the couch and buried his face in his hands in frustration.
