Chapter 38: Abeonim, Eomeonim

"Alright, I guess that's it." I said as I stood up and clapped my hands together. "Good luck girls!"

"Thank you so much eonni!" Hanbyul exclaimed as she walked over and hugged me. I let out a giggle, hugging her back.

Two weeks ago, right before they left for Japan, Namjoon-oppa asked me if BLACKPINK has some free time so that we could help out ST4RLIGHT with their group's dynamics. Unfortunately, the five of us didn't have a common free time so I told him that I could handle it.

I've spent the entire morning and afternoon with the members of ST4RLIGHT, except for Sora since she was in a meeting with Bang-PDnim. I've asked them questions about their dorm life, their responsibilities, and feelings towards each other, things like that. I've asked them to do some team building exercises that our management made us do before our debut. I've also asked them to perform their debut song live for me and to be honest, I didn't see anything wrong. They worked together like a well-oiled machine. I could also see the sisterly bond between the three of them.

So I could only come up with one possible explanation.

Maybe...maybe it's because of Lee Sora.

I didn't blame her. I knew how hard it was being the new one in a group. Even though my girls made me feel welcome when I first joined them, there were still times when I felt like an outsider. It took a while before I felt like I was really a part of the group. Since Sora had only been training with the other members of ST4RLIGHT for a few months, maybe she was feeling the same way I did, and that was affecting their performance. I'd just have to talk to her privately.

My phone suddenly beeped, getting my attention.

"Here at lobby." I read the text I received. "Oh, Chaeyoung's here."

The three girl's heads snapped at my direction.

"Omo, Rosé-sunbaenim's here?" Mina exclaimed. "Can we meet her eonni?"

"Yes of course. Let's go." I chuckled, leading the way to the lobby.

When we got there, we saw Rosé standing by the couches. She was all made up in full makeup and expensive clothes, having just come from a photo shoot. She had another one to do today, but she dropped by BigHit because she accidentally took my wallet this morning instead of her own.

She hugged me briefly when we got to her, then she handed me my stuff back.

"Thank you Chaeng."

"No problem eonni. Have fun on your trip." She replied, winking at me. I felt my face turn red and was about to scold her, but then I remembered the three girls standing beside me.

"Chaeyoung, these are the members of ST4RLIGHT: Han Yebin, Kim Mina, and Goo Hanbyul. There's also Lee Sora but she's not here right now. Girls, this is Park Chaeyoung, or Rosé, my favorite Aussie." I said as I introduced them to each other.

"It's nice to meet you all." Rosé said as she bowed, but then her phone beeped. She sighed, looking at me with tired eyes. "I have to go now."

I gave her a sympathetic smile. I felt bad for my exhausted dongsaeng, but that was just how our lives were as idols. Rosé smiled and waved one last time to the girls then gave me a hug before heading for the door.

Suddenly, Hanbyul began waving her arms.

"Sora-eonni! Over here!" She called. I turned my head and saw Sora heading our way. This also got Rosé's attention so she turned back, waved at Sora, then continued on her way. When Sora reached us, Mina went to her side.

"Eonni, Park Chaeyoung was just here! You missed her." She said.

"Yeah, I saw." Sora replied. I fought the urge to raise an eyebrow at her tone. She said it like she couldn't care less.
