Lunch was loud. Nearly every student was eagerly conversing about the third task. Today, four champions would enter that maze, and only one would win.

Ronald Weasley was very surprised to see both his mother and his eldest brother sitting on the Gryffindor table with Harry.

"Mum - Bill!" Ron said, looking stunned, as he joined them on the table. "What're you doing here?"

"Came to watch Harry in the last task!" said Mrs Weasley brightly. "I must say, it makes a lovely change, not having to cook. How was your exam?"

"Oh... okay," said Ron. "Couldn't remember all the goblin rebels' names, so I invented a few. It's all right," he said, helping himself to a Cornish pasty, while Mrs Weasley looked stern, "they're all called stuff like Bodrod the Bearded and Urg the Unclean; it wasn't hard."

Fred, George, and Ginny came to sit next to them too, and Harry was having such a good time he felt almost as though he were back at the Burrow; he had forgotten to worry about that evening's task. Finally, Hermione joined them, smiling at the sight of Mrs Weasley.

"Hello, Hermione," said Mrs Weasley, much more stiffly than usual.

"Hello," said Hermione, her smile faltering at the cold expression on Mrs Weasley's face.

Harry looked between them, then said, "Mrs Weasley, you didn't believe that rubbish Rita Skeeter wrote in Witch Weekly, did you? Because Hermione was never my girlfriend. Y/N is her first and only current boyfriend."

"Oh!" said Mrs Weasley "No - of course I didn't!"

But she became considerably warmer toward Hermione after that.

Hermione's eyes scanned over the Gryffindor table when she had sat down, a look of expectancy on her face. Harry immediately knew who she was looking for.

"Y/N's over there, by the Hufflepuff table."

Hermione's eyes darted to the table of said Hogwarts House, and to her bewilderment, she saw her boyfriend sitting at the end of the table with a pretty older girl with bright pink hair. He had a very solemn look on his face. The girl was flicking through a book with a leather cover, and Y/N was looking through it with her. Occasionally, she saw a genuine smile flicker across his nonchalant features.

"Who's she?" Hermione said, sounding a little put out. Ron was also staring at the girl with interest.

Harry saw her tense expression and sought to rectify her misinterpreted view of the situation immediately. But before he could say anything, Bill was already speaking.

"Her name is Nymphadora Tonks." he said, glancing at the pink-haired girl fondly. "She was at Hogwarts with me. Two years younger, of course. She's been training to be an Auror in the past three years. And she's - well, used to be Y/N's elder sister."

"Elder sister?" said Ron, confused. Hermione was wearing a similar expression to him. "But isn't Y/N an only child? Mandeville didn't have any children before him, did she?"

"Of course not, stupid little brother of mine," said Bill, before addressing all three of them. "I'm sure you guys know that Y/N was taken away from the custody of his mother at the age of one and a half -?" the three of them nodded, " - well, before he was taken to that Orphanage of his, did he ever tell you that he initially lived with a wizarding family until he was four?"

Harry and Ron both said, "no." but Hermione said, "yes."

"Well, he was taken in by a couple by the names of Andromeda and Edward 'Ted' Tonks. They already had a daughter, Nymphadora, and they were the only ones who were willing to take in the son of Harriet Mandeville."
